Dozens of huge, round, orange eyes staring, as if they had just awakened from a millennia-long sleep, and they really didn’t like what they saw. It didn’t speak. It only watched. As if planning an exchange: your tank for a sarcophagus. Since then, no one has volunteered to patrol the desert.”
