Historical Reference
After the FV230 tank project was canceled, the idea arose to use its running gear developments to create a tank destroyer. Due to the reduced vehicle weight, the track width was decreased to 800 mm while retaining other suspension and running gear components. It was planned to be armed with a 123 mm rifled gun. The vehicle was intended to combine excellent protection, firepower, and reasonable mobility. However, the focus in tank combat shifted to anti-tank missile systems, and the project was ultimately canceled.

  1. WG probably made this up but it is true that there were casemate tanks designed in the UK, at least as a concept, well into the 1970’s, some of their own initiative while others were jointly developed with West Germany (FMBT) or the US, in fact the Germans were kinda pissed when they found out the UK was also working with the US in secret and sort of passing the data they received from the Germans to the Americans

  2. Oh, it’s so cool to see both the in-game screenshots and historical references side by side. That blend of authenticity and gameplay really makes strategy feel alive. It reminds me how even virtual machines can teach us about history’s engineering marvels, and how our fascination with tanks mirrors a deeper human love for problem-solving and innovation. Speaking of immersing myself, I’ve been exploring aviagames lately—it’s impressive how flight sim enthusiasts bring that same passion for realism to the sky. Here’s to more detailed and well-researched content ahead!
