WoT Supertest: Ashigaru

The Ashigaru (“Light feet”), a Tier X Japanese tank destroyer, is the first wheeled TD in the game. It offers decent mobility (with a top forward speed of 39 km/h and a specific power of 24 hp per ton of weight) and considerable firepower.

Its 105 mm gun deals 390 HP of damage per shot and has an outstanding aiming time (1.4 seconds), good accuracy (0.32), fast AP and APCR rounds, plus a maximum depression angle of –10° and a relatively short reloading time of 7.1 seconds. On top of this, the gun has a double aiming system, allowing for surgical sniping precision with an accuracy of 0.21.

The Ashigaru gameplay resembles that of British wheeled medium tanks, the differences stemming from it being much more maneuverable than the Brits and a better fit for the sniper role (though its view range of 380 m makes it dependent on allies for spotting).

  1. Bro, are we really going to have japanese-wheeled TDs before the japanese light ones?

  2. Fine, WoT needs more TDs, much more TDs. Oh, what am I saying here? WoT just needs TDs. If the MM were human, he’d hang himself. The stats won’t stay the same; he’ll definitely be brought up to match Concept 5.

  3. Looks like the New techtree – japanese wheeled TD

I hope also for max 5 Td per Team- the mm test at begin of spring 25 was noice

  4. This is ridiculous. Can someone ask these wargaming idiots when the Radpanzer 90 is coming? As always, the German nation is underrepresented in this game. That’s crap! They should just shut down the servers and stop bothering the world with their crappy fantasy vehicles.

    1. Take a look at the ground Forces in War Thunder. There are a lot of wheeled vehicles including an Italian one called Centauro with a 120mm gun capable of going 110kmh AND it’s classified as a Light tank

  5. TDs are the new arty, Wargaming is already adjusting maps to have minimal to none (TD) sniper positions for a long time. Game is fully focussed on Heavy and Medium. Even the mediums have better penetration than most TDs.
