WoT 1.29.1 Common Test: H3 In-Game Screenshots & Historical Reference

H3 (🇺🇸 USA, HT-9, premium, mechanic: 5-shell autoloader) With the release of Update 1.29.1, the H3 will be driven in Random Battles by developers and Supertesters.

Historical Reference:

In the second half of the 1940s, work on heavy tanks in the United States progressed slowly and did not go beyond prototype models. The Korean War gave a strong impetus to these efforts, and by the early 1950s, the Heavy Tank T43 appeared, eventually becoming the production model Heavy Tank M103.
Work then began on the design of even heavier tanks, and among the proposed concepts was the H3. Its development clearly took inspiration from the French AMX 50. The vehicle featured a oscillating turret and an autoloading mechanism, although it remained an original American design, including the turret. The hull was made as low-profile as possible, and the tank was notable for its high specific power.
The H3 project did not progress beyond the conceptual design phase.

  1. The M1 cupola absolutely doesn’t fit the rest of the aesthetics of this tank, it’s sitting on that turret like a baroque dome on top of a low income housing concrete paneled building block, haha.
