What Is Steel Hunter?
Steel Hunter is World of Tanks’ unique battle royale mode. Drop into massive maps with either 15 solo players or Platoons of up to 20, and fight to be the last vehicle standing. With vehicle upgrades, AI-controlled enemies, and loot-based power progression, every match is a test of both survival instinct and tactical prowess.
Key Gameplay Features
• 8 Unique Vehicles: Choose from specially designed tanks with distinctive combat abilities.
• Voice Chat and Commands: Communicate with your Platoon using voice or the command wheel (make sure it’s enabled).
• 15-Minute Matches: Choose from several spawn points before each round.
• Dynamic Maps: Three huge arenas with shrinking safe zones and Destruction Zones that deal damage over time.
• Vehicle Upgrades: Gain XP mid-battle and level up your tank to grow stronger.
• Loot System: Collect valuable items like Consumables, Supplies, Spoils of War, and high-risk Airdrops for crucial advantages.
• Auto-Aim and Fast Shells: Vehicles are equipped with a lock-on targeting system and higher shell velocity for fluid combat.
• Marauders: Defeat these AI-controlled enemies for Combat XP and loot—they appear as squares on the minimap.
• Skill-Based Matchmaking: Fight players of similar experience and efficiency in both solo and Platoon matches.
Progression & Rewards
Earn Progression Points by performing well in battles and completing daily missions. These will push you through various Progression Stages, each packed with rewards.
In addition, collect Steel Seals to spend on exclusive customizations and items in the in-game Store. But act fast: Steel Seals will expire on July 7 at 06:00 UTC.
Unlock the “Tempered Steel” 2D Style
Introducing the exclusive “Tempered Steel” progressive 2D style—a five-level customization that visually evolves with your progress in the mode. Complete special missions to unlock new levels and inscriptions.
• Progress carries over across Steel Hunter events.
• Complete Stage 1 of the mode to receive the base style.
• To check mission conditions, go to Customizations > “Tempered Steel” Style, and hover over the level/inscription.
