It is not only about that. It is also about power consumption which implies also lower temperature.
I understand that WG wants their game look pretty. But they should also think about that from the other side.
Perhaps it’s easier to run foliage removal hacks on low settings; or hacks in general?

I strongly believe that the bulk of players using low-end systems were in the russian/CIS region and thus were cut down and transferred to Lesta…
The CoreEngine is still one of the best scaling solution out there and cutting the legacy low-end mode will not be as much of a pain as it may look like. Especially if 2.0 will bring some sort of upscaler to compensate.
Depends on how many ran it on the lowest of low. As it’s kinda like when they killed off support for 32x, as then they claimed not even 1% ran it on that client. Tho then their reason for killing it was that no one made driver updates etc anymore for 32x etc

I’ve recently tried it on my 13-year old linux laptop (EliteBook 8470p i5-3320M) and got 30-40fps on low settings. Maybe its time for people to buy a laptop or something that’s less than 10-years old – second hand if need be.
doesnt really matter, steel aces will just have an easier time taking in even more former wot players.
this game is done the second steel aces gathers traction in the community, its everything wot players have been asking for for 14 years, and instead of getting a middle finger in return, its made by people who actually understands the problems of wot, and arent eastern european dogs.
I’m on the beta for Steel Aces. The game has a very good start IMO.
How ancient potato computer you should have to be able to use only the lowest graphics preset?
I remember couple years back when I had to run the game on a super old and budget Geforce GT1030, it gave a pretty acceptable performance on 1080p and med to high graphics preset on the modern render. And that card can be bought for about 20-30EUR used easily..
If you cannot afford that, then why play WOT at all? Use the time you spend crying about removal of the lowest graphics preset to do some simple paid job and earn the needed cash in a matter of hours or few days. If you are a kid, then you could save that amount of money from your lunch money also in few weeks tops.
I doubt that complaining about the low graphics preset removal in 2025 in all of the European countries can be considered justified.

I only upgraded 6 months ago and I’ve spent thousands on the game over the years

Thank you for posting this, I was just wondering what happened. I played on Simplified/Standard graphics because I simply cannot stand the bright contrast sun/shadows and blinding light they added with the improved graphics. WTF
i play while working using office pc without gpu,, is unplayable rightnow after update, i can only play while at home, its suck
