Historical Information
The British Vickers MBT EXP tank was developed in the post-war years primarily for export to Middle Eastern countries. This was the reason for the design modifications that met the requirements of potential customers. The main difference between this tank and the more well-known Vickers MBT was significantly improved armor protection. According to the project, the vehicle turned out to be balanced and harmonious in terms of the ratio of combat qualities: the 105mm gun could still handle opponents, and the diesel engine provided good mobility. However, for a number of reasons, including the development by the intended exporting countries of their own tank building programs or the choice of other suppliers of military equipment, the Vickers MBT EXP did not go into mass production.
