WOT Update 2.0 in 2025
Since the “Polygon” (Lesta – Mir Tankov – WoT RU) will receive its “revolutionary” update in January, let’s take a PRELIMINARY look at what we can expect in the second half of the year as part of the large WoT 2.0 update.
This information is current as of October 2024 and may change.
What to expect
- Transition to a new game engine version + internal developer updates
- Graphics, environment, shadows, dynamic effects updates, new “heavy” tank textures
- Ability to fine-tune graphics more precisely
- Branch expansion beyond tier 10 + Introduction of “high-tier” vehicles + tier 11 in the game
The first 4 points are the most important and lay the groundwork.

for sure a lot of will be push backed into next year and another and another — (taking for example how long they took to announce crew update (tease with free crew transfer) and actually release — one year later and more — if am not mistaken on that)
that’s because the original crew rework was utter shit and would have killed the game, so WG listened and decided to take more time. you guys are NEVER satisfied smh
“Never satisfied”? They wanted to use the Crew Rework as a new milking system.
That’s why the backlash was so fcking insane that they had to back off for a more reasonable crew update.

everyone asked for a crew rework, no one wanted to train new crew just because the tank has different roles. it got fixed.
279e/chieftain: good tanks that were added as reward for being good, nerfed because they were being an issue, fixed.
amx 54 had the same handling on a 130mm gun that it had on the 120mm.. that’s unbalanced and thus.. nerfed, fixed.
prog 65 was nerfed unnecessarily, that i agree.
buffing type 5 isn’t as easy as you think it is, a niche playstyle tank is difficult to buff because you can tweak something that’d give players an unnecessary advantage.
maps? yeah.. current roster is full of shit shows like airfield and mountain pass, let’s pump out 2 more every year so it’s impossible to fix any.
enough tanks got fixed, if you are looking at lesta rebalancing.. also remember that their game has assault artys with 500mm effective armor, flamethrower tanks, tier 11 and ridiculous monetization with multi stage lootboxes and t10s in them, even t10s like WT e100.
the new lines are shit because WG always try to put in a new gimmick and are afraid of making them too strong.
neither Lesta’s wot and nor WG’s WOT is perfect, but WG wot is leagues ahead in terms of how balanced the game is. you wanna see how lesta plans on destroying their game? go and take a look at tier 11’s obj 279, and that thing will be facing upto tier 9s… very same mistake wg made once with chieftian and 279e but fixed eventually, i.e making an all round heavy that’s impenetrable regardless of where you are shooting it.
Yet RU has millions of live players. Whereas EU is lucky to have 50,000 even during these Xmas events. NA isnt even worth talking about…..
WG will not close WoT. In any case, 2.0 will be a change of graphics engine as happened in the 1.0 update. 70% of the players are always the same and nobody in their right mind would start a new WoT from scratch. They don’t buy all these lies… WoT 2.0 will be a change of graphics engine with multiple improvements. Nothing out of this world…
