A trend is emerging from WG’s side, where they repeatedly re-release the same “unique” tanks auction after auction. Instead of showcasing creativity and offering something new and distinctive, they consistently auction re-skinned tanks with identical statistics already present in the game.
To highlight this flawed system, here’s a small list. Consider how many times something truly unique or new could have been introduced instead of recycling the same content:
- (Re-skin) WZ-111 5A “Qilin”
- Black Market 2021
- Auction 2022
- Auction 2024
- (Re-skin) 113 “Beijing Opera”
- Auction 2022
- Available in the Bond Shop since 2023/03/13
- (Re-skin) 121B “Monkey King”
- Auction 2023
- The 121B has been in the Bond Shop since 2019/10/28
- (Re-skin) Progetto 46 “Mars” & Progetto 46
- Black Market 2021
- Trading Caravan 2022
- Auction 2023
- Available in the premium shop numerous times since 2018
The repetition of the same stats in these tanks renders them as mere filler offers. Notably, on the Chinese server, Tier 10 tanks had premium status until around 2021 when WG took over.
Furthermore, numerous tanks have been sold too frequently instead of introducing something genuinely new or unique:
- T-22 MED.:
- Black Market 2021
- Trading Caravan 2022
- Auction 2024
- Once a rarity, now owned by approximately 35,000 players after the recent Auction
- TL-7: (premium shop/lootbox tank)
- Call to Mars 2023 Lootbox Tank
- Was sold as a limited Premium Shop Offer in 2023
- Auction 2024
- It simply doesn’t belong in an auction; no one really wanted to see it there.
- FV215b (183):
- Black Market 2019
- Black Market 2020
- Auction 2023
- Should be in the Bonds Shop, once it was a tech tree tank, owned by over 210,000 players on the EU server
- (re-skin) Type 59 Gold: (Overpriced Type 59 without the 200% Credit Boost)
- Black Market 2020
- Auction 2022
- Black Market Access Key
- During the 2022 Trading Caravan Event, the regular Type 59 was available for only 6300 gold and is sold in the premium shop yearly.
As shown with the examples above, there is ample room for new entries instead of repetitively offering the same content. Much-anticipated tanks from this list could have been introduced instead of continually reselling already obtainable tanks.
On the other hand there are still players who are seeking to lay there hands on these offers as well. So why not fulfill their wishes?
It is easy, WG wil see when there are no more of these offers sold, then they will vanish. As long as the bids for them are high, they will return.
Seeing it only from a perspective of someone who most problably already have those offer is very narrow-sighted and kind of arrogant, don’t you think?
For example for me the T-22 offer was my chance to finally get the tank after many years, even if I have nearly all the other tanks.
I don’t mind it but it is clear that the market is saturated with them. I got the ones I bid on, with 100 gold or what ever the min bid was plus one click. Never saw a competitive bid pop up on the screen near auction close on NA. Only picked them up because they were min bid…
I don’t see the problem. These events happen once-twice per year, not every couple weeks.
well thats the problem you wait for so long just to get the same
There’s a very simple answer to the question in the article – WG will stop selling the reskins, when noone will buy them. Until all of the auction items will be sold out, they will continue to do the same, as it is an easy money made from nothing.
I remember killing a T22 medium in my tier 6 medium years ago. We were the last two tanks he thought easy win … Denied
Funny guy!
In which of your wildest dreams did this happen?
Training rooms don’t count bro.
i mean, creativity is only necessary and used when profits start to drop. THIS is gaming in 2024 and has been for years.
All this crying like WoT hasn’t seen 30+ new tanks last year alone. Why is this 8-13 tanks the problem?
Unfortunately the mindless drones don’t see or understand the issue of the constant spam of the same-o tanks during these events. Hence one of the problems with this game.
