Most likely, it will be a New Year’s gift for tankers.

This is, unironically, one of the least questionable premium tanks we’ve had, I dunno, since the Te-Ke? It’s just a Soviet T-26 with stock engine, stock turret, and second gun, and historically T-26s were exported to and fought in China. Also, the gun and engine are both historically accurate, the T-26 never had a 37mm gun or a 130 hp engine.
I don’t quite agree with you here, many of WG’s gift tanks have been fairly uncontroversial. I’m not absolutely certain on the exact order of the released gift tanks so forgive me if there are some mistakes, but of the tanks that I think were released after Te-Ke, at least TKS, BT-7A, Pz.2D, AMD 35, MTLS-1G14 and T-34 1941 all entered mass production and all but MTLS saw combat service. Furthermore, L-60 and Toldi 3 entered limited production and the latter fought in the Hungarian military. Sweden obviously didn’t participate in the war, depriving their tanks the combat-tested status.
That said, I will be happy to get this little rust bucket. I’ve always kinda wanted a T-26 in my garage due to its historical significance, but couldn’t really justify training a crew for a statistically fairly unremarkable tier 2 tank.
I mean questionable compared to higher tier premiums too, not just the low tier gifts. Then again this game has never been big on tank history, and to an extent I think that’s good, but only to an extent – too little and we get what WoT is now, too much and we’d get War Thunder which is the opposite extreme.
