WoT Console: Retirement of Low-Tier Tanks

We wanted to share information with our community in regards to a very important change coming to World of Tanks Console.

All Tier I and II tanks along with certain Tier III and IV tanks (including some Premium vehicles) will be retired from the game with the next update. The following tanks will no longer be available via the Tech Tree and will not be able to be researched or purchased:

If you have any of these tanks, rest assured they will remain in your account and will still be playable.

These tanks will still end up in matches against tanks in their matchmaking range as usual.

Basically, these tanks will work exactly as they do today, but keep in mind that you will not be able to see them in the Tech Tree or Premium Tech Tree after the upcoming update. (More update information will be shared as we get closer to its release.)

  2. wow, it looks bad for WoT console, and it’s definitely a sign that one shouldn’t get invested in WG games too much anymore. Wonder how long they can keep WoWp alive – maybe introducing bots would be enough for WoTC too.

    1. What’s wrong with you lol? 170k players online on EU during the week… Over 550k on RU3 alone. Yeah sure this game is dying kekw. Gigacope. You are just frustrated.

I see the PC version’s recent restructuring of TTs’ low tiers as problematic, since the small freedom of choice you had was what gave the grinding some individual charme. and removing tanks from a game called “World” of Tanks does leave the aftertaste of the game being incomplete and hollow, with WG pushing people more into high tiers filled with fictional vehicles and neglecting more historical low tier vehicles.

        WG’s console move also leads to the assumption that the game isn’t doing so well, with player numbers lacking even whilst going cross-platform over six consoles (IIRC it covers 3 generations of PS and XBox consoles now). Seeing how WG keeps driving their projects against the wall and abandoning them doesn’t create a future outlook for WoT PC I am confident in. WoT will be running for several more years, probably, with enough people accepting the game the way it is (sadly) to make it sustainable, but it will be dead inside long before is disappears.

        Or maybe the game will end up with WG going full mobile game style with timesavers, lootboxes and all the exploitation tactics and crappy UI that usually go along with it. But that’s shit for a niche game that started on a rather serious and mature note.

        tl;dr: verbal diarrhea from an idiot that thinks people had to swallow more shit from WG than an RU3-server full of 550k human centipedes.

  3. Aha so this will come to WoT PC soon. Why you think all tanks trashed into colectors tanks? So thay can be trashed later by WoT.

  5. Was locked out of my account for two years and never got the Steadfast tank. I really want it and will never get it. What a slap in the face to a 8 year player who loves collecting and playing all of the tanks. I have over 600 tanks and my goal was to have a complete garage. What load of crap. I feel betrayed. We should be given a chance to purchase these for a limited time say 90 days before they are removed.
