WoT Blitz: Rating Battles changes

The balance of equipment in rating battles is carried out by role groups. The balancer selects teams with mirrored tiers and roles.

For example, tier IX heavy tanks are balanced in comparison to other tier IX heavy tanks. If you can not find a suitable role within given tiers, then they are first balanced by their tier, then their role.

In addition, several additional role groups have been allocated to improve the balance:

Damage Interceptor – A well-armored tank that prevents damage to teammates by pulling the enemy’s attention to themselves.

Tank destroyer – a powerful tank destroyer is the main damage dealer to the enemy in battle.

Raider – fast tank which makes a tangible contribution to the outcome of the battle.

  1. I feel like this is a good change, assuming that they follow it up with balance changes so that all vehicles in the same tier and group are equivalent.

On the other hand, it feels like Wargaming’s trying literally everything they can think of to avoid +-1 mm.
