Supertest: Tiger 131

Off: I don’t exactly have the best computer and internet today, so I would like to say sorry for the lateness of this article. Hey, at least the pics are not watermarked by anyone ;)

This tank is an „Ace” tank, talked about around WG Fest last year on TAP if anybody here remembers. Quite a shame WG puts those clone premiums in the game, the devs seem somewhat lazy in my opinion. Hey, at least this isn’t a Black premium.

  1. Why put any actual effort in when you can just make new textures for an existing tank which is done in 1 day with their templates, add some random details on the model et voila, cashcow #459

  2. Tbh, I’d rather see this tank at tier 7 with buffed parameters(APCR as standard ammunition, better turning speed, faster aim time and reload time, better view range). Seriously, we are not interested in a copy-paste tank that has nothing special other than ‘131’.

Besides, if this is the same as the normal Tiger, what’s ‘Ace’ about it? Freaking money grabbers

  3. The hero tanks of other nations ….

    AMX M4 49Mle
    T26E5 Patriot
    Defender

Germans get a hero Tiger 131 on Tier 6 what is a clone of the bad Japanese Heavy Tank No VI.

    1. I am more tempted to say people will buy it, because it is a midtier-german prem-tank, which trains your german HT-crews.

I for one would switch my Heavy Tank No. VI without any thought for this …

  4. Sooo, how is this different from the HT #6, besides having worse DPM?
Also, how is this anything special? The VK 45.03 is better in every aspect, no?

    1. This one has 145mm standard pen, Japanese Tiger has 132mm. It might not seem much, but percentage-wise it is like the difference between T-54’s two top guns.
Gold penetration is also higher compared to Nap Tiger (194 vs 171 IIRC).
VK4503 is tier 7, this is tier 6.

  5. They should give it a better handling. 145 pen is nice, but even 132 is usable on HT no VI (sufficient for up to tier 7, need flanking for tier 8 which is possible if your brain is working properly). However, the poor handling is kinda holding it back from having a decent mid/long range capability when you need it. I’d trade it for less DPM as it suits German facist playstyle more (2nd line heavy, slightly behind the breakthrough heavies e.g soviets)

  6. Agree with Bingo — why put it down at Tier 6? Also surprising, because WG has had a few recent premiums that make the tech tree variants irrelevant (Patriot replaces Pershing, Defender replaces IS3, Bromwell replaces Cromwell, etc.) — why stop with the Tiger?

    1. because for a historical tank linke the 131 they could not go with the 8,8 L/71 that was never used on the Tiger I (or H). so they could either buff the pen of the 8,8 L/56 (with APCR as standard and even better APCR (history???) as prem ammo.

For me the solution of WG seems rather fine. a bit better gunhandling would be nice, though, as the Jiger is laccking a bit in that topic.
