  1. She was a modified Leander class cruiser. Built for the RN but transferred to RAN. The normal tier 6 cruiser is HMS Leander which operated in ww2 with a New Zealand crew.

  2. well what can i say WG take my hard earned $$$ now well i all ways knew that we will have a kiwi or aussie ships for the brit line

  3. I’ve seen other post with title “Tier 6 Commonwealth Premium.”but non saying British premium.
Is this a way to get the Canadians, Kiwis and Aussies to leave winging about representation in the British tree? A scattered tree of “Commonwealth Premiums” with RCN RNZN RAN names and flags. Most would be clones of the British tree anyway. Like Omaha. Murmansk and Marblehead and marblhead lima?

  4. I thought this Australian ship could be merged into Pan-Asian coalition, since Australia belongs to Asia-Pacific Region, and Australia is included within Asian server.
When it comes to ships from minor countries, I thought Polish destroyer Blyskawica and French battleship Dunkerque could be merged into Pan-European coalition.
And there have been discussions about South American ships, such as Brazilian battleship Minas Geraes, and Argentine cruiser General Belgrano, could be merged into Pan-American coalition.

    1. I’m looking forward to British-made Australian CV HMAS Melbourne, could be unique Pan-Asian CV, and it was finally scrapped in China, giving People’s Liberation Army inspirations to develop their own CV.

      1. A pity that Australia provides most of NZ’s military officer training and is treaty bound to provide all NZ’s combat air support since they sold all the combat aircraft.
Me, I’m glad to have our best mates as independent neighbour’s so we can play international sports them them and not have to travel half the world to do it.

        1. It bothers me that you show a complete misunderstanding of both nations military systems and utter arrogance toward New Zealand as an independent military entity.

          1. New Zealand is a most admirable nation of good people. Shallow slings between the CoA and DoNZ have been good simple sport of over a hundred years. Bowling under arm included.
These game forums are a great place yo continue them. But deeper introspection requires a different mode and very few have studied the more indepth high level and fewer have put details on public record. The first and second Federation Conference minutes a re facinating insights into all the colonies or perhaps their representative ttitudes and personal mindsets. Sames with the various notes from the ministerial and cabinet discussions on uniting, economic, currancy and foreign policy with underlaying hints of national union of some form that occured in the 1960’s and again 1980″s.
Or am I just offering a “Truthful Jones” story because most Aussies and Kiwis dont believe how close we really are.???

            1. I’ve been part of an Australia/New Zealand coalition in a warzone mate. We are very close and have a very good relationship, and a healthy rivalry.

Although idealogically and doctrinally very similar, the two militaries have developed very much independently of one another. While it’s true New Zealand does rely on Australia for air and naval support, this is only in recent times and is due to the decision not to upgrade in the 1980s and ’90s. The NZDF certainly does not rely on on Australia for training or equipment.

New Zealand has a proud history of independent military action as well as punching well above their weight in terms of personnel numbers and equipment quality compared to their adversary.

The two countries have a long history of working together and achieving big things, but to say New Zealand couldn’t achieve it without Australia is a huge slap in the face to all Kiwis and is quite insulting.

              1. I apologize to you and any New Zealanders who may feel insulted by my words or the unintended inferences taken from them.
This is a game forum and the word play ment to be at that level with a bit of exageration and invention added for the fun.
As said before New Zealand is an Admirable nation of good people and has been for over 100 years. She and her peoples have a reputation world over for their independance even standing up to her allies including super powers over issues of ethics, law and human rights standards.
She and her peoples are very good neighbours, friends and sports.
Please play ships and tanks for fun and enjoy.

  5. Why is WG developers making the Perth (27100) have less HP than the Leander (28700). It’s the same vessel and both are tier VI, so why the 1600 difference in HP?

Since the Perth is a RAN vessel will it fly an Australian flag and have an Australian captain?

    1. The Perth, Sydney and Hobart were “modified Leander” class. They had slightly different engine arrangements and armour to suit so I would expect the hp to be slightly lower with slightly better armour around the power plants.

    2. The Leander class cruiser built under tonnage limits of the 1st London Naval Treaty. To obtain the most number of cruisers, each successive ship in the class had extra weight savings so the class had progressively smaller treaty standard displacement. The modified Leander group had two funnels so that the boiler room and engine rooms were less vulnerable to combat damage.
