WoWS Q&A – 22nd July 2016

Thanks to Carnotzet.

1. This must be a joke. In 10 months, I managed to gain 1 million commander’s xp and here you’re asking me to gain 2.5 millions. You’re kidding me right ?

A. It is not a joke, it is a tough economy. We are not pleased with it as well. That is why in patch 0.5.9 (that is currently undergoing public testing), we have set a limit to the experience needed for commanders retraining without paying or for credits. In the current test configuration, the limit is set at 100k and 50k, respectively.

2. I received 10 camouflages type 6 as reward for my progress in ranked battles. I was quite happy to equip them. However, after a certain time, it got worse. By activating auto resupply, it got through the 10 “free” camouflages and then started to buy them for doubloons. It is rather easy to miss the moment when one’s stock is depleted. Would it be possible to give me back my 100 doubloons ?

A. I am afraid I cannot give them back since you already purchased the product.

However, there are good news coming : in patch 0.5.9, we have split the button for auto-resupply and auto-purchase. That way, we will avoid situations where players lose doubloons or credits inadvertently.

Bonus from 0.5.9 bulletin thread.

  • Warspite should sit slightly lower in the water in patch 0.5.9

They should do this in WoT too with consumables and ammo.

  2. Please can give Warspite a truer gun range. This ship holds the record for longest gun fight and you give her crappy range. Is this all part of a anti-British bias, are we going to see this theme for the rest of the RN tech tree. The Campbelltown is a joke ship too

    1. So, one lucky shot at long range IRL means it has to have the best range ingame?
In that case, we should make the Bismarck able to one-hit kill any British ship within 5 hits, courtesy of one (tragic) historical example of randomness.

Anti-British bias….Yeah, this is why the WoWS forums don’t take British ship topics seriously anymore. The self-victimization is real.
The only real fix the Warspite needs after the upcoming armor and water height fix is the stupidly low 5 second fire/flooding immunity.

Other than that,no you can’t have the most accurate, soon-to-be best armored, most maneuverable, most survivable (hello ability to repair heavy damage, conveniently omitted), soon-to-be above average AA, most AP penetration tier6 BB also have the best range.

At one point you just have to put your national pride aside for some balance.

      1. well said, 100% agree, the Warspite is already a great BB at her Tier, she does not need a buff only the water height looked weird
With the Campbeltown I am struggling though, did not find a strategy for her, but then again I am not a DD player, I even rather prefer to hunt a DD in BB like the Tirpitz than playing ’em, even less the Campbeltown 🙂

        1. Campbeltown should be played like a Japanese destroyer, you have the best torps at tier III and 1km of stealth fire range.

    does this mean
    1) commandor with more than 100k exp cannot retrain without dubloon
    or
    2) commandor retraining will require a maximum of 100k exp?

    1. I think what it means is that captain retraining will now be maximum 100k xp for free, and 50k xp for the credit retraining.

And with the situational awarness being removed as a skill, and being innate to all captains, this will make buying new ships with good captains much less harrowing.
