As work on the Chieftain tank progressed, the matter arose of organizing production of a similar-class vehicle outside of the U.K. Based on the chassis of the first prototype, a project was developed with the American turret of the promising Concept1b tank.

AMX ELC 901 (France, Tier-6, LT, promotional)
The ELC AMX-901 was the first prototype of a tank being designed under the Engin Léger de Combat (light combat vehicle) program. Tests done in 1955 revealed many design flaws.

CS-53/56 Wojtek (Poland, Tier-8, MT, premium)
A project of the Military University of Technology in Warsaw in which the turret of a 56-ton tank was mounted on the chassis of the CS-53 medium tank. The vehicle turned out to be complex, low-tech, and expensive. As a result, the Polish military decided to focus on organizing large-scale production of the Soviet T-54, and the new heavy tank went no further than blueprints.

Czołg P wz. 46 (Poland, Tier-9, HT, premium)
In the Czołg P wz. 46 project, the classic single-drive suspension was abandoned in favor of a dual-drive system with power supplied to all track rollers. This design had numerous advantages but was more complex to implement.
