The absence of the 🇺🇸 Ares MTB for quite a long time now, including during several loot box releases, suggests one of two possibilities:
- It has been postponed for the New Year loot boxes.
- It has been put on the back burner, and the release of this tank is not planned even in the medium term (not this year).

Looks like they’re just keeping the Ares “on hold” for a future loot box event, which is pretty common with premium tanks in WoT. It gives WG time to fine-tune the balance and line it up with seasonal hype to maximize interest and sales. These kinds of delays usually also mean the tank might still be tweaked a bit before release, especially if there’s concern about it affecting the meta.

After the nerfs the (basically identical) Ares 85 sits here.
Winrate is bottom 13th out of 42 tier 9 mediums. This amounts to a 48.1% win rate.
Tank winrate is -.5% lower than player average winrate. The tank is worse than the players, which says something, cause an insane amount of people are in the sample size and worse players tend to gravitate towards the vehicle.
The tank obviously struggles more than it shines. Quit crying people…
If anything the tank should be somewhere in between the previous state before the nerfs and the current state of the tanks.
Anyways. I hope you can make some credits when gold spamming in this vehicle when it releases, at least a little bit. Because this line needs gold to perform more than most vehicles. This vehicle was balanced around the gold ammunition FOR SURE.
I just checked, another important stat and it is actually BOTTOM 5 in average damage per game among these 42 tanks. And people are crying. Wow, that is bonkers.
