WoT: Expanded 3D Attachment Support and Transparency While Aiming in Update 2.3

We continue to expand the capabilities of the vehicle appearance system by adding support for 3D attachments to more vehicles. This became possible thanks to technical improvements that allowed previous limitations to be overcome. Vehicles that now support 3D objects can be found in the changelog.

We have also improved the 3D attachment system itself by refining the attachment mechanics: placement is now more consistent, and the chance of errors has been reduced.

In addition, we are introducing a new mechanic that improves interaction with 3D attachments during battle.

Attachment Transparency While Aiming

• What it does: prevents 3D attachments from blocking visibility while aiming.

• How it works: when aiming at a vehicle, certain attachments mounted on the turret will temporarily disappear, making weak spots easier to detect.

• Result: more precise aiming without appearance elements affecting gameplay.

The mechanic works dynamically depending on distance and affects only visual elements. Vehicle models themselves remain unchanged. Appearance elements retain their aesthetic role and do not affect gameplay, while even more vehicles now support 3D attachments .

You can enable or disable the feature in:
Settings → Graphics → Advanced → “Hide 3D attachments in Sniper Mode.”

  1. But how can I resell these attachments?
Just like skins, these attachments are cluttering up my garage…

  2. Unfortunately, not at all. WG should really change that. I have the same annoying problem. I’d gladly delete them without receiving anything in return.
