In the postwar years, Czechoslovak designers proposed a variant of a fire support and reconnaissance vehicle capable of withstanding combat even with heavy enemy vehicles: with the installation of 57 mm rapid-fire cannons in a low-profile turret on the chassis of the Soviet medium tank T-62A. When firing at the frontal projection, the high density of fire made it possible to guarantee that several projectiles would hit the weakened zones even of the most heavily protected enemy tanks. However, the Soviet version of the scout vehicle ceased to interest the military after work began in the USSR on missile tanks, which became a priority direction. It was also not possible to count on deliveries of the RDT-62 “Rezak” to the countries of the Warsaw Pact, and for Czechoslovakia alone the project proved too expensive, so it was discontinued at the stage of work on producing a mock-up of the combat module.
