Background:
Among the Tier XI additions, only a few have clear historical roots:
-
🇩🇪 Leopard 120 – Based on the Leopard 2 prototype T11-17.
-
🇷🇺 Object 432U – Derived from the real Object 432 (the T-64 prototype), though the “U” variant and its altered barrel are fictional.
-
🇸🇪 Strv 107-12 – A fictional modernization of the Strv 103.
Wargaming often gives existing designs new names or designations, a trend seen before in Project CW (now known as WoT: HEAT).
Other Tier XI vehicles draw strong visual or design cues from real-world concepts:
-
🇺🇸 T-803 – Resembles the MBT-70, and the number “803” may be a nod to the XM803 modernization.
-
🇩🇪 Hirschkäfer – Loosely based on the experimental Marder VTS1.
-
🇬🇧 AT-FV230 Breaker – Similar to the Chieftain Casement Test Rig, though altered.
The rest of the Tier XI lineup appears to be mostly fictional creations.

tier 11 is a stupid boring idea in itself.
but random ass vehicles, with goofy ass abilities? lmao
look whos bitching again
I might prefer to see machines like the MBT 70, the Ariete, and the Challenger MBT in the game, but Gaijan ate WG’s lunch in that regards a long time ago. At least these don’t look quite as silly as what’s going down in Lesta Land.
What I really want is the Sturntiger line as it is on console, also, there are still more lines that would have tier 11 like the Super Conqueror that could finally go to the Challenger or the Centurion AX with a Chieftain, and tier 11 opens the door to tier 12 where they will sell historical tanks
yes, tier 11 is needed in order to combat tier 10 meta mentality
people can’t move on tier 10 because they are mentaly stuck in a phaze and they won’t get up from it
is like low tier players , they are stuck at tier 4-5 and won’t play anything else, these players the the ones who are mad about tier 11 that are fiction
whatever dude , we stopped thinking about historycally acurate tanks when the cheftain or 279 started to dominate randoms just because of the competitive players
competitive players distroyed world of tanks
i hope all these competitive players like daki and skill and many others move to wot heat and forget this game exists so we can actualy have good updates and stop the Turbo games
this.
That’s a crazy take 😂😂😂 Competitive players can play everything, they don’t need an insanely strong tank. As a matter of fact, competitive players hate on BZ-176, ELC EVEN, XM57, etc, because they can see how toxic these tanks are for the game. And Project CW (a.k.a WoT HEAT) is a completely different game altogether. If anyone has a fault, it’s the slightly below average and average players, because they would complain that their tank is too bad and they need a better tank for 70 dollars or for 100 loot boxes
exactly, but its pointless to argue with the average wot gamer (47% wr) because they lack basic comprehension skills
I mores expected adding World of Tanks modern armor system to the PC. So there would have been WWII mode and cold war mode. But this is still some type of content this game needs badly. We will how it works on life, because there would be no CT and it´s certain there will be extreme amount of bugs and reapairs in the next year. Like when patch 1.0 was launched.
All in all wot 2.0 is BIGGGG refresh of boaring game last five years… I feel good👌🏻
I am very excited. This looks good!
I’m hesitant to make a definitive statement. I’m still lacking information. However, I do wonder why these have to be fictional tanks when hundreds of tanks have been developed between 1970 and today. They should be realistic tanks, even if they’re just blueprints and/or concepts. What really puts me off are names like “Stag Beetle,” “Killer Whale,” and such nonsense. It’s a bit of a misstep. But those aren’t the really bad things. More important is changing/improving the MM and RNG. That would be enough for me for now. And maybe raising the BZ176, XM57, and Bourasque to level 9, where they belong.
It will be terrible. Teir 11 on tiny maps with tanks with even higher damage and penetration, view range and armour.
Nothing WOT make EVER works.on launch.
All these huge changes and no common test is a disaster in the making.
Common test sucks. You have 5 players in the queue so you wait forever for a battle. And if there are enough players it’s only tier X because nobody plays lower tiers.
Actually, the Bat Chat and M48 successors are real blueprint designs and the light tank’s hull is real. I also think that AMX 67 might be a blueprint design as well. But the rest are all fake – BZ, CS-67, Black Rock, Contriver, KR-1, Taschenratte.
The new tanks are roughly 50% real(blueprints) and 50% completely fake. Although, I’m not a historical realism die-hard, it feels very weird to me, that WG chose to launch the tier 11 expansion with some fakes in the roster, considering that there are way more than 16 real and blueprint projects from the 50s, 60s and 70s, that can be placed at tier 11 as a start of the expansion. Sure, in a year time from now, they could add CS-67, BZ-79 and Contriver, but prioritizing Contriver over later Chieftain variants or BZ-79 over Type 69/79 is…weird.
Again, I don’t hate on fake tanks, I just don’t understand why putting in fakes, when there are plenty reals out there.
I got to ask the obvious question:
Why use fictional tanks at all ? There are more that ample number of actual projects that can be tier 11-15. Tanks that go beyond the current time line of WoT, beyond Korean war etc…
To be honest, if WG thinks people will migrate to Project CW in numbers that will support that project (financially), THEY ARE WRONG AGAIN. Just add historical tanks and have historically accurate tier 11-15….
They don’t expect for WoT players to migrate to Project CW, rather they expect to attract completely new audience – 10-20 year-olds with a 10 seconds attention spam. For them, classic WoT is too slow and Project CW is the yolo brawl, they would enjoy.
By the way, the leopard is based off the leopard 1a4, not the a1a1 l44. They might have the same gun yet the turret on the a1a1 is just a modified leo 1 turret while the la4 is a completely new design.
My biggest issue stems purely from the constent need for some form of mechanic on every tank now. Just leave the quirky mechanics to WoT Heat
