Project CW: Game Modes Update – What’s Coming Next

As promised, our response to your awesome feedback — today we’ll speak about Game Modes, their updates, and even exploring some new ones. Here’s what’s coming up:


Conquest

We’re aiming for more predictable gameplay with lots of tactical moments and some quality of life improvements. Here’s what we’re testing:

  • 3 active bases instead of 5 for more focused battles

  • Lower player counts

  • Dynamic spawning or player-chosen spawn locations


Domination

Developers aim to make matches more balanced and exciting. We’re working on clearer capture and scoring mechanics to help with those epic comebacks.


Kill Confirm

We’ve heard your feedback about unpredictable spawns, so we are tweaking the spawn rules to make the game less chaotic and more predictable.

  • Spawns will be more dynamic

  • Spawns will consider line of sight

  • Spawns will prioritize placing allies near each other


Plant & Defuse

Our team is:

  • Expanding this mode to more maps

  • Improving visibility and understanding

  • Adjusting bomb interactions

  • Exploring new competitive gameplay styles beyond the standard Plant & Defuse


New Prototypes & Variations

Our Lodestar Program participants have already tested new game mode prototypes and variations of the current ones.

For example:

  • Adding rounds to Kill Confirm made it feel more competitive compared to the Alpha 2 version

  • This might become a separate competitive game mode rather than replacing the current Kill Confirm in QuickPlay

  1. Could care less about this microwaved turd of a development….hopefully it’ll go the way of that stupid roman army strat game they tried to develop.
