WoT 1.28 Common Test: IMT In-Game Screenshots & Historical Reference

IMT (USA, Tier-8, MT, premium) With the release of update 1.28, the IMT will be tested in random battles by developers and supertesters.

Historical Reference:

After World War II, the US military command requested a new tank to replace the Sherman. The Improved Medium Tank (IMT) was to have strong armor located at rational angles and a low silhouette providing additional protection. It was assumed that the vehicle would weigh no more than 45 tons, and its specific power would be 20 hp/t.

The armament would include a 105 mm cannon with vertical and horizontal stabilization, as well as six machine guns. An optical rangefinder and radar were also planned.
The project was deemed unpromising, but many of the technical developments were used in other American tanks.
