WoT: 3D Attachments – A New Vehicle Customization Type


World of Tanks takes another step toward making your favorite rides look truly unique by introducing a whole new type of vehicle customization: 3D attachments. You can put 3D attachments into several special slots on an ever-growing list of vehicles, mix and match them, and combine them with any 2D styles and other 2D customizations. You will be able to get the first 3D attachments during Holiday Ops 2025.

3D Attachments: What They Are

3D attachments are decorative 3D objects that can be installed on vehicles that have slots for them. Each vehicle that supports 3D customizations has several slots, so you can choose your preference. Moreover, 3D attachments can work together with any 2D styles, camos, paints, decals, and inscriptions in your Depot. (The only customizations that cannot be combined with 3D attachments are 3D styles.) The number of 3D attachments will steadily grow in the future.

Slot Types

There are three types of 3D attachment slots:

  • Special Slot 1 is located on the vehicle’s gun mantlet or turret
  • Special Slot 2 is located on the vehicle’s turret or conning tower
  • Universal Slots are located on the vehicle’s hull.

The first batch of 3D attachment-compatible vehicles all have five slots, but their number may differ in the future due to the multitude of tank sizes and shapes.

Compatible Vehicles

At the feature launch, dozens of vehicles will be compatible with 3D attachments. The initial list includes many popular top-tier tanks. The number of vehicles supporting 3D attachments will increase in the future.

Rarity System and Sets

3D attachments will belong to one of three color-coded rarity categories.

  • Rare: These are your base 3D attachments that contribute to making your vehicles unique.
  • Epic: More complex 3D attachments to help your ride stand out, sometimes having visual effects.
  • Legendary: These 3D attachments are the flashiest ones, plus they come with unique visual and/or sound effects that activate in specific circumstances (at the start of a battle, after destroying an enemy, etc.).

The rarity system may be expanded in the future to include new tiers of 3D attachments.

3D attachments will also be grouped into various thematic sets (several of them will be available during Holiday Ops 2025). These sets are non-binding, so you can mix and match 3D attachments to make your tank look special.

Managing 3D Attachments

Once 3D attachments are introduced, the interface of the Exterior screen will change. When you receive 3D attachments, you can try them on your vehicles in various combinations with 2D styles and other customizations you have.

Additionally, two new filters for the vehicles carousel will appear, allowing you to select the vehicles that have 3D styles and the vehicles compatible with 3D attachments*.

The “Non-historical” filter will also switch available 3D attachments on and off.

    My total who’s cares to be epic because have gitzmo on my tanks…..
    Maybe 12 years players will spend money to be a legendary kids…… or 800wn8 tomato will try to increase ego with Epic gadgets to show…. wow

  2. As I thought. the concept is awesome the outcome is classic wg. What we wanted: sandbags, logs, guns, ammo, spares, camonets being able to mount on a lot of available slots around the tank. What we got: fortnite like objects that you can mount on 3 predefined slots.

    Being able to turn off unhistorical objects is a big plus, so at least this.

    I m not completely against what wg did but please give me ability to make a gritty dirty war machines. And make more slots that make physical sense. Ffs wg.

      1. Its not about historical accuracy, its about immersion. Think of Battlefield 1, its nowhere near accurate, but you do feel like you are soldier near death in world war 1.

        Same principle here, its normal from a playerbase to request suitable atmosphere in a game inspired by tanks that are based on reality of 30s to 70s. (i.e. they at very least existed in form of projects or mentions in textbooks). Just because the game is arcady doesnt mean it can be fortnited to oblivion. Your argument is invalid.

        1. There is no more immersion whatsoever, there used to be, but it’s gone, wasted by a bunch of money greedy twats.
          This game has become Mario Kart and this is not the initial reason people joined, you play alongside Ninja Turtle tanks, nearly half a team of auto-loaders, re-loaders, twin guns BS tanks and they have ruined the way the game should be played with lights able to deal 4k damages rather than spotting, arty being nerfed because cry babies unable to learn how to play them (and therefore how to protect from them) got upset their fucking 279e or T95 Chieftain were focused.

    1. Purposely tweaked RNG is basically just your emirical experience (even more distorted by your irrational feelings because you remember frustration of not hittin more). You cant use this as any sort of evidence for your claim lmao.

      RNG works in sequence, meaning it has preloaded string of where the shot will go accounted for +/- 25%. That means you can have great (hitting everything), medicore or terrible (hitting jack shit) battles. Thus RNG can sometimes look like: miss,miss,miss,hit,miss,ultra miss, hit….or sometimes it can look like this: hit,hit,miss,hit,hit….if you spread this string to thousands of battles you will get average of +/-25% RNG (if you are a masochist you can actually create stats yourself if you want proof). So stop with this nonsense conspiracy.

      The last paragraph you wrote I agree with, wg did shit job of what we actually expected.
