WoT Supertest: Object Kust In-Game Screenshots & Historical Reference

Object Kust (USSR, Tier-8, TD, premium mechanics: hydropneumatic suspension activated by button)

Historical Reference:

In the second half of the 1950s, the USSR was working to develop turretless tanks. Designers in Kharkiv were working on a vehicle that was similar in concept to the Swedish Strv 103. For aiming, only elevation/depression of the gun was envisaged, with minimal traverse. The project did not go beyond the mockup stage.

  1. Oh boy, what a cupola XD
Everyone will give this thing some High Explosive love =))))

      1. I’m 100% sure it is a hitbox.

        Why?
Because they gave this thing 80mm of frontal armor, which means nothing will overmatch its hull.
        All APs/APCRs will ricochet.
Even HEATs are gonna struggle against this extremely angled 80mm plate.

        Why?
Because this thing is a bloody tier 8 tank. I highly doubt that even tier 10 340 HEATs can reliably go through this armor, let alone tier 8 270-280 HEATs.

So, they HAVE TO give this thing a weakspot.
Otherwise, it’s gonna be disgustingly broken.

Consider how these Siege-mode TDs are usually designed, which is well-angled thin armor, their cupolas are usually 20mm or 30mm thick.
It is very likely that this thing’s cupola is not an exception.
Of course, there’s a chance they make it HE-resistant by giving it 50 or 60mm.
But there’s no chance that thing’s cupola is NOT a hitbox.

        1. Making the entirety of the cupola a hitbox/weakspot is gonna pretty much negate whatever armor it has since unlike renegade or t110e5, it does not have a turret or the mobility in siege mode to bait shots by moving back and forth or by hiding its cupola with its gun. It’d be pretty useless because every time you peek to shoot you’ll eat 2-3 in return and if you try to snipe in this thing you ain’t gonna hit shit because of average shell velocity and accuracy(leaks say it’s .34 in siege mode). Top that off with the fact that it has only 10 degrees of gun depression in siege mode, regardless of what it does it’s cupola is still pretty easy to hit. If you see closely it has a joint in the cupola, my guess is that it’ll be a hit box below that joint.

This is most likely one of the tanks we’ll get in holiday ops boxes and from wargaming’s tradition of putting 1-2 OP tanks in them. This could very well be this year’s op tank.

          1. You also need to remember that this thing hits like a truck and it’s very stealthy.
            -10 is very flexible.
The cupola is big, but you can only hit it reliably at close range. It becomes RNG test as soon as the range is higher than 200m, not even consider any movement from its side.
When Turbo got implemented into the game, these Siege-mode TDs has been so much more maneuverable inside the Siege mode.

Its base accuracy is bad, but with all kinds of equipments currently available in the game, you can push it to a very workable number.
The same goes for shell velocity.

A tank with that many tools is already flexible enough for a tier 8 TD.
Nobody will complain even if this thing has no armor at all, let alone a whole-ass 80mm well-angled hull that makes all APs/APCRs useless.

The last thing we want in the game is tanks that have no weakspots.
And there are already too many lessons for anyone to make another mistake.

            1. “The last thing we want in the game is tanks that have no weakspots.”

              This has to be sarcasm.

                1. WoT in its current state is a game where weakspots are often pixel-sized and/or overarmored, or have been removed altogether. Not wanting tanks without weakspots is something I fully support, but along with that we desperately need all existing tanks to have actual weakspots.

Of course it’s probably too late for that, WG and a good chunk of the playerbase are too addicted to premium ammo to care.

    1. most likely not a hitbox, if you see closely there’s a joint in it. the part below is cupola. OR if it is a hit box, i bet it’s heavily armored

  2. A tank destroyer on a Object 432/T-64 chassis from KMDB? “SU-122-64” or SU-130-64?
Ok, I have to admit I love the looks of the tank.
