World of Tanks: Tips for Beginners (P)

World of Tanks is an exhilarating blend of strategy, skill, and sheer firepower, placing players in the cockpits of some of history’s most formidable armored vehicles. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned tanker looking to sharpen your skills, there’s always something new to learn in this dynamic game. In this article, we’ll dive into some essential tips to help you dominate the battlefield and maximize your enjoyment in World of Tanks.

Know Your Tanks

The cornerstone of success in World of Tanks is understanding your vehicle. Each tank class—light, medium, heavy, tank destroyers, and SPGs (self-propelled guns)—has distinct strengths and weaknesses.

  • Light Tanks: These are the scouts of the battlefield. Use their speed and agility to spot enemy positions and relay information to your team. Avoid direct confrontations unless it’s a sure kill.

  • Medium Tanks: Versatile and adaptable, medium tanks can perform a variety of roles, from flanking maneuvers to supporting heavy tanks. Use their balanced stats to exploit enemy weaknesses.

  • Heavy Tanks: These are your frontline juggernauts. With superior armor and firepower, they can absorb damage and dish it out in return. Position them carefully to protect weaker allies.

  • Tank Destroyers: Specializing in long-range firepower, tank destroyers can decimate enemies from a distance. However, they often lack mobility and armor, so find a good sniping position and remain hidden.

  • SPGs: Also known as artillery, SPGs provide indirect fire support, hitting targets that are otherwise out of reach. Stay hidden and keep moving to avoid counter-battery fire.

Map Awareness and Positioning

Understanding the battlefield is crucial. Study the maps and learn the key positions that offer strategic advantages. High ground, choke points, and cover are all vital considerations. Use these positions to maximize your tank’s strengths and minimize its weaknesses.

  • High Ground: Offers a vantage point for spotting and shooting enemies.

  • Choke Points: Control these to limit enemy movements.

  • Cover: Protects you from enemy fire and allows you to ambush unsuspecting foes.

Communication and Team Play

World of Tanks is a team game. Communicating with your teammates can make the difference between victory and defeat. Use the in-game chat and quick commands to share important information like enemy positions, strategies, and requests for support.

And while you’re taking a break from the intense tank battles, you might want to try your luck with some other entertainment. Have you heard of Roobet Plinko? It’s a fun and exciting casino game that can provide a different kind of thrill. Just like in World of Tanks, a bit of strategy and a lot of luck can lead you to success.

Armor Angling and Weak Spots

Armor angling is a technique used to increase the effective thickness of your tank’s armor. By positioning your tank at an angle relative to incoming fire, you can deflect shots that would otherwise penetrate.

  • Angle Your Armor: Position your tank at about a 30-45 degree angle to incoming fire.

  • Target Weak Spots: Every tank has weak spots, usually on the sides, rear, and certain parts of the front. Aim for these to maximize your damage.

Upgrade and Customize Your Tanks

Regularly upgrade your tanks with better equipment and modules to improve their performance. Customize your tank with consumables and crew skills that complement your playstyle.

  • Equipment: Enhance your tank’s capabilities with items like gun rammers, optics, and camouflage nets.

  • Consumables: Carry repair kits, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers to handle emergencies.

  • Crew Skills: Train your crew in skills that benefit your tank, such as Sixth Sense, Repair, and Brothers in Arms.

Practice and Learn from Each Battle

Experience is the best teacher. Analyze your battles to understand what worked and what didn’t. Watch replays, read guides, and learn from more experienced players to continually improve your gameplay.

Stay Calm and Have Fun

Finally, remember that World of Tanks is a game meant to be enjoyed. Stay calm, avoid toxic behavior, and focus on having fun. The more you enjoy the game, the more you’ll want to improve and engage with the community.

Conclusion

By mastering these tips, you’ll enhance your World of Tanks experience and become a formidable force on the battlefield. Whether you’re scouting in a light tank, holding the line in a heavy, or sniping from afar in a tank destroyer, these strategies will help you achieve victory. Happy tanking and good luck!

  1. I remember when we had great videos and articles on how to play from very good players, you know back when WOT had forms and places for this kinda stuff

  2. Because genital warts appear on delicate areas of the body, you shouldn’t use salicylic acid to remove or treat these warts.

  3. WGEU needs to ban the Seal Clubbing Clans like LUCH and K40S, that will help alot with the new player experience.
I know this due to me playing recruit acc’s, and facing 2-3 player platoons of those cretins, in Luchs, M5A1, PZIIIJ, Cruiser IV, all the seal clubber de jours, each with 5-7 perk crews after 4000-10000 battles in each of those tanks.

    1. I saw a player in onslaught with a 78% overall win rate account. But it was thousands of battles in luch, pz s35 etc at 80% that got that….

  4. well, the one sentence that made me lough out loud:

Every tank has weak spots, usually on the sides, rear, and certain parts of the front.

tell this to a player facing a hulldown Kranvagn, IS-7, Chieftain etc. or even better: facing a 279(e). gl for newbies. and yes, those are all tier 10, but nowadays this can be reached within one or two thousand battles – or even worse with just premium tier 8 and bad luck with the MM.

and yes, I miss the forum, where videos could be shared. sure one can just search YT, but that is NOT the same.

  5. WG and skill lol what a joke 90% game is manipulated by so call RNG , ghost shell , aim bots, dropping bullets . till maps are not bigger and tank slower and mods ban with RNG lowered and MM by skill this game is dead for all new players and old leaving too.
