WoT: Assemble the Ashigaru—A Japanese Tier X Tank Destroyer

The gates of the Assembly Shop are opening again! This time, you have an opportunity to build the Ashigaru, a brand-new Tier X Japanese wheeled sniper tank destroyer with a gun that may be called phenomenal because of its stats.

Every Ashigaru assembled will come with the imposing “Shinsei” 3D style featuring a unique number.

Please remember that the basic operating principle of the Assembly Shop is “First come, first served”—so be prepared when it opens! The event may finish before the scheduled end time if all vehicles are assembled.

Accessing the Assembly Shop

As long as the Assembly Shop is active, you can enter it any time from your Garage.

How the Assembly Shop Works

• Invest Resources: Use in-game resources like blueprint fragments, Free XP, credits, gold, and bonds to construct the Ashigaru.

• Get It Fully Optioned: Every Ashigaru comes with the unique numbered “Shinsei” 3D style.

• Mind the Limited Quantity: Only a limited number of Ashigaru will be available (EU: 98,000, NA: 15,000, ASIA: 15,000). Once the supply is exhausted, they’re gone!

Mix and Match Resources in Different Ratios

Resources are deducted as soon as you add them to the Assembly Shop, but you can reclaim or redistribute them at any time by clicking the Return Resources button. If you don’t craft the Ashigaru by the end of the event, all the resources you invested will return to your account automatically.

Meet the Ashigaru

The first-ever wheeled tank destroyer in the game is named after the Japanese light infantry of the medieval to early modern period. During the latter, these warriors began to wield firearms. The Ashigaru’s main armament is way more powerful than a matchlock gun, and can fire much more frequently with exceptional precision.

Key Features

• Excellent DPM: Fine-tuning your Ashigaru and its crew can bring its reload time to less than 5 seconds. Considering the one-time damage is 390 points, this results in a DPM of more than 4,500 points.

• Outstanding precision: The Ashigaru’s gun is equipped with a cooling system. With its effect fully applied, the already impressive accuracy becomes one of the very best in the game. And there’s no catch of any kind: the aiming time is also exceptional.

• Fast shells: The velocities of the Ashigaru’s shells complement the picture of a dedicated sniper vehicle. Even the base AP shell travels at 1,250 m/s, while the special APCR shell flies at 1,540 m/s.

Tactical Tips

• Be an Ambush Sniper: The Ashigaru is built for this gameplay. Fully tapping into the phenomenal DPM of the vehicle is possible—you just need a good covered position.

• Drive Responsibly: The mobility of the Ashigaru is average, so choose your direction and positions wisely, and think about withdrawal routes in advance.

• Terrain Can Give Extra Camo: While the Ashigaru’s base camo values aren’t stellar, they can be improved. Also, the –10° maximum gun depression allows you to lower your silhouette in some positions with only the turret out. By the way, the turret’s frontal armor is thick enough to stop most HE shells.
