The Mines map’s size has been changed from 800×800 meters to 1,000×1,000 meters to increase gameplay diversity. The fresh prototype features a new attack direction along lines 1 and 2, plus new defensive positions near the bases. The latter have been relocated, and vehicle spawn points have been adjusted to balance the timings of arrival at the key positions.
The updated version of the map has received changes to several other zones, opening new gameplay opportunities while taking advantage of its enlarged size.
1
The new direction is located along lines 1 and 2 by the water.
2
The new areas near the red line help players defend the new direction (lines 1 and 2) and support allies.
3
There are two new paths leading toward the central hill.
4
Sniping positions have become more complex and balanced.
5
The mountain slope has been removed from this zone to extend the gameplay area.
6
New cover has been added to the heavy tank direction to balance it.
7
The players’ vehicles spawn here now.

This looks amazing! Unless I’m missing something, they fixed all of Mines’ issues:
– the map is expanded
– the spawn points are both elevated
– there is more room and cover to push towards the southern spawn from the eastern flank (8-9-0 line)
– there are now 2 direct access paths from the eastern island area towards the middle (I think the same as in Onslaught)
– there is a similar balcony position for the northern team, that the southern team currently has at (I think) H9-J9
– the northern team has a more expanded snipers’ area, which matches the southern team’s one
Very, very nice looking!
Plus september update with better graphics and MM and we got another 5-10 years if wot… If?
It looks promising. However, I’m not sure if lines 1-2 are a good playable area. The point 2 positions are definitely occupied by snipers, and cover for an advance looks pretty poor. The two ramps to the hill (like in Onslaught) are very good. This change alone would make the current map more enjoyable to play. A game on the new map will reveal any potential weaknesses. In any case, the new map is a feast for artillery.
Still has 1/3rd of the map unplayable with mountains hills as a no-go dead zone that reduces flanking .. a WG hallmark in all their ‘maps’
after 14 years of asking, a second path is added to the hill on mines?
wargaming’s innovation truly knows no bounds!
whats next? balancing vehicles? nerfing canopener? buffing type 5? they wouldnt dare go this far! another random collab event it should be!
