Historical Reference:

Among the countries actively engaged in tank development during World War II was Australia. The main focus of the Australian tank program was the creation of their own cruiser tank, with work beginning as early as 1940. However, alongside cruiser tank projects, Australian tank designers were also working on heavy infantry tank projects. One such project was the heavy tank Cyclone, which combined features of British, American, and French tanks. An interesting feature of this tank was its armament — a twin-gun installation that allowed for salvo firing.

However, due to the high cost, the Cyclone heavy tank project did not progress beyond the preliminary sketches. After World War II ended, the Australian government sharply reduced funding for their own tank program. Subsequently, Australia acquired tanks from the United Kingdom, which were significantly cheaper than domestically developed tanks.
