In a move that has reignited controversy around Wargaming’s (WG) handling of its Community Contributor (CC) program, content creator iyouxin has been removed from the program after advising players not to purchase in-game lootboxes.
The official explanation from WG, shared in a private message later made public, cites violations of the program’s core principles, specifically Rule #8, which prohibits “participation in, or condoning of, bullying or actions designed to incite, offend, or create unrest.” WG claims that iyouxin’s video, which openly criticized the lootboxes and called on players to avoid them, created “unrest” and “damaged trust.” Additionally, WG cited a video released on Bilibili that allegedly caused “significant unrest in China and the APAC region.”
However, many in the community see this as a selective and deeply hypocritical decision. Larger CCs such as Skill4ltu and QuickyBaby also publicly discouraged players from buying the same lootboxes yet they remain untouched. The difference? Influence and visibility. These bigger names are essential marketing pillars for WG, making them effectively untouchable.
Smaller CCs like iyouxin, however, appear far more expendable. By making an example of him, WG sends a clear message to the rest of the CC roster: step out of line, and you could be next. Critics have called this a deliberate act of intimidation, a form of corporate bullying used to stifle dissent while preserving the illusion of fairness and transparency.
The removal, widely condemned across forums and social platforms, is being described as “shortsighted.” It not only alienates loyal creators but also reflects a broader issue: a company more concerned with maintaining control over its narrative than with genuine community dialogue.
Ultimately, many are left asking the same question: if voicing honest criticism gets you kicked out, what kind of community is WG really trying to build?
Only half the truth is being written here. The action on the Chinese server was just the famous straw that broke the camel’s back. Due to his past in WoT, Iyouxin was only a CC on probation and should therefore not piss on the leg the company WG-Europe and the operator of the Chinese server. After all, the Chinese operator is an important business partner of WG-Europe and the business and rules/ law in China are extremely different from those in Europe.

I don’t watch much of iyouxin’s content but when I do, I really enjoy it. I knew about his past and I was genuinely surprised that he even became a CC (he was a CA – Community Ambassador for quite a while before that). He appears as an honest and open guy, so I’m truly sad that he shared only half of the story. But oh well, I guess he’s worried how the newer members of his community will take the whole truth.

Thats nothing else than a twisted perspective. Old stories from his youth long before getting involved into the CC program should not have any impact on how to rate and judge his opinion he told. It was not different to the other CC in my perspective. He just stepped on someone’s foot in China and the business partner complained about that thing. That makes him different to all the other CC, which not publish any content over there. And obviously WG rates his business partner with a contract higher than any of their CC. This is fine and WG can go on with that. I fully understand the decision. I mean, WG can invite and remove any CC with no reasons at any time. We have no say in that. Exactly. WG knew his past. And they eventually accepted him into CC program. So if someone is trying to use this argument then it is very bad argument. If that wodul be problem for WG then they would not added him into this CC program at the first place.
But now they are removing him and they are using stupid excuse. He was saying the same as others, that these lootboxes are pure gambling and only way how to let WG know that they crossed the line is not to buy them. But that pissed off someone in WG, because obviously the profit from that was probably not as WG expected and somebody didn’t get their bonuses. So they decided to punish this one CC. And WG is just not honest and used a general rule that you can if you want use to anything.

China server aka 360 server is an agent. This will affect the terms of the commercial contract signed between the companies, and will affect the company’s revenue and financial performance. This is a very serious matter. It is normal for the parent company to protect the interests of the agent.
Well his past may matter if upon entering the program he already was at a “warning” status, so any further violation would lead to removal. therefore this action, usually worth a warning, may have lead to the removal. but of course, we dont know.
Only Iyouxin truly take the action to not do any review of the tier box tanks.
