In a surprising twist this event season, Wargaming introduced loot boxes this time, purchasable with gold on the Asia server. These “Dragon Boat” boxes contain a variety of tanks, many of which have already been available for purchase in the past. For veteran collectors who already own most of the included vehicles, the result has been an unexpected windfall.
Here’s how it works: once a player owns all the tanks available from the loot boxes, any duplicate they receive is automatically compensated with gold. The catch? The amount of gold given as compensation exceeds the gold cost spent on acquiring the box in the first place.
Streamers and whales alike have caught on quickly. Live broadcasts from the Asia server show users buying 150 box bundles for 30,000 gold, netting around 4-5 tanks, after which, every subsequent duplicate converts into pure profit. In numbers, that’s over 30,000 gold in compensation for each 150-box batch, allowing players to reinvest and re-roll endlessly. In effect, players discovered what is essentially an infinite loop of gold, credits, and goodies, a glitch by all definitions.
Images shared from player groups show full garage screens and skyrocketing gold balances. Some players have already dubbed it the “infinite money glitch,” as whales with fully stocked garages keep spinning boxes and walking away with more gold than they started with.
In response, Wargaming has issued a hotfix, placing a cap of 75 boxes per day to slow down the exploit. Still, many players point out the speed of this fix compared to long-standing in-game issues like the “gun bug,” which remained unresolved for 6 months.

People on NA and EU were rioting the multi tier lootboxes days PRIOR to this one. Can you imagine what the community would do if WG releases ANOTHER ONE???? This is why we can’t have good stuff on NA. Too many broke folks refusing to find a job and whines online about Paid content.
You are either a WG spy, work for a Casino or are incredibly stupid for defending straight up gambling, price obfuscation and predatory monetization. Do you think people would “whine” as much if WG just sold the tanks inside the lootboxes for a set price, instead of putting them behind multiple layers of RNG? I already was not fine when WG introduced more boxes in the year that dont even offer the guaranteed gold, but mostly useless stuff. But then again, who cares, let ppl waste their money, i wont.
I am also in general fine with tiered boxes.
What I am NOT fine with is having to pay over 1k €to guaranteed get all the tanks. Tell me what you like about brokeness, but forcing players to pay 4-5times as much as on christmas to get all new content (on christmas its 250 for all guarenteed high tier premiums and you are surely getting the 5 low tier, so also around 10 tanks) is TOO MUCH.
300, I would argue, is fair, 350 maybe 400 if we are talking high end (i still would not support that as it would mean you have to spend at least 750 a year for WoT with only these 2 events) but 1k??? No, just no.
Even If i COULD easily afford this much (and surely i would have spend it) its too much. As seen, because ppl WILL spend it.

200-300 for boxes is a fair price. around 50 per guarenteed premium you can get seems fair to me. (which almost noone would pay to get the directly)

sadly that eans that we will probably NEVER get lotboxes for Gold EVER again.
And I mean it makes sense that you get compensated in gold for the tanks, which are worth more gold than the boxes cost… just needs a large first investment.

They point out the speed of the fix? You cant really compare those two issues at all. Its like complaining that turning already existing lights on is done way faster than to fix or change the alternator.
It is not only infinite gold, but also infinite silver, X5 missions, crew books, premium time, reserves and directives glitch.
Basically those, who abused this to the max, got their accounts stocked with all these resources for life or at least years to come.. 🙂

you guys don’t understand that this lootboxes are pay to win stuff….not like LoL, or CS or the other gatcha mechanics in other games, which are only cosmetics….here you get a better tank, gold, more xp….it’s creating a gap between rich and poor…this is not a game anymore…
