WoT Supertest: Mines Changes

⚠️Important:

As has been the case ever since the deletion of the official World of Tanks forum, developers continue to post map changes exclusively on Discord. This method has proven to be extremely unprofessional and inefficient for several reasons:

  • They consistently forget to include key images that are crucial for understanding the changes.

  • Image albums are often posted without filenames or descriptions, making it impossible to reference or verify them properly.

  • The albums, usually hosted on Imgur, are poorly organized and chaotic, offering no structure for clear publication.

  • This disorganized communication makes it nearly impossible to publish any proper coverage or analysis based on their material.

  • WG appears to be incapable or unwilling to hire someone to manage a proper changelog or communication pipeline for these updates…

For the Mines map, we intend to make the gameplay more varied—by increasing the location’s size from 800×800 meters to 1,000×1,000 meters, which allows us to create a new attack direction in zones 1 and 2 and add new defensive positions near the capture bases. Tank spawn points have been adjusted to balance the timing of their arrival at various positions, and the capture bases themselves have also been relocated.

We have prepared two versions of the enlarged Mines map with the new direction:

On Version 1, the new direction is more closed,
On Version 2, the new direction is more open but with more options for concealment,

BeforeVersion 1Version 2

1)
The new direction is located along the 1–2 line.

Before Version 1 Version 2 Before: Version 1 Version 2

2)
There are new areas along the red line.

Version 1 Version 2 Before: Version 1 Version 2

3)
To make this “old” direction more balanced, we have added more cover for heavies here.

4)
TD sniping positions have been reworked to become more complex and balanced.

5)
New locations for tank spawn points have been added.

  1. Closing the forum is still the biggest single blow to this game.

About the changes. I really don’t like the new area on (2). Another TD camp hangout that makes it way to easy to hit tanks that at least are trying to push forward. It should be just sea. Let the meds and lights fight it out on the island.

    1. with the current state of mines, every change that lets mediums and lights and really every other tank that is not suited only for bashing heads on the hill is welcomed

  2. I’m so excited about this new Mines map. I’m one of the few that don’t hate the current Mines even at higher tiers, but I agree that it needs an expansion or at least changes. These 2 versions look very promising. I really like the new Ensk Region, so I’m looking forward to Mines Region or whatever they will name it.

  3. They also post this on Reddit too. As most OGs don’t care about discord vs the old forum, thus WG figured out it was best to post all updates on Reddit. But… even when they posted this on the old forum they still did it the same way with the same shitty undetailed imgur linked images. So it was as inefficient most of the time there too, so don’t glorify it too much.

Unless it’s map changes that are coming in the next patch with a portal link with before and after sliders. Super test map changes have never been portrayed well

  4. looks really good!!! although i dont understand spamming castles on new map designs, seems like every map after rework has one, FR

  5. Positive change ;), I hope It Will make the map more playable for lights and mediums

  6. Closing the forum summed up what Wargaming thinks of the community

The Forum was as rigged as the game, and yet they still couldn’t cope… and shut the place down lol

  7. Wow, these Mines map changes look intense! The new attack routes and spawn adjustments will definitely make matches more tactical. If you want a break from tanks and try some fast-paced racing, Speed Stars Unblocked is a great way to sharpen your reflexes.

  8. Great breakdown of Mines updates! The extra cover for heavies and reworked TD positions will change gameplay significantly. If you enjoy strategy and fun challenges, you might like Football Bros—it’s a simple game but really addictive.

  9. These Mines map changes look really challenging! I love seeing how spawn points and cover are reworked. Speaking of intense rides, if you want to take a break from tanks, Snow Riding 3D is an awesome way to test your reflexes on snowy tracks.

  10. Wow, these Mines map updates look intense! Balancing the spawn points and adding new TD positions should make matches more dynamic. When I need a fun break, I love playing google dino—it’s simple, addictive, and perfect for quick sessions.
