With the release of Update 1.29, the E 65 Zwilling (
Germany, HT-8, premium, mechanic: dual gun system) will be played in Random Battles by developers and supertesters.
Historical Reference:
Toward the end of World War II, German tank manufacturing moved toward a concept known as the E-series. One of the vehicles in this program was the E 65. It featured a torsion bar suspension system developed by Steyr, with the drive wheels positioned at the rear of the hull.
What set it apart from other vehicles in the series was the concept of mounting two guns in a single turret. The idea was that the tank would be capable of either volley fire or cyclic fire with increased rate of fire. However, the E 65 never progressed beyond the conceptual stage.
From the side it looks like one of the AMX M4 tanks…..turret looks like one straight from the Canopener
AMX M4 tanks which were based on German tank designs. So it’s basically still mostly German.
