WoT 1.28.1 Common Test: Brennos In-Game Screenshots & Historical Reference

With the release of Update 1.28.1, the Brennos (🇫🇷 France, HT-8, premium) will be tested in random battles by developers and supertesters.

Historical Reference:

After World War II, the French sought to develop a heavy tank based on their accumulated experience. All pre-war and wartime French heavy tank projects were reviewed. Many components and assemblies showed clear German influence, as France had an abundance of information on the Panther and Königstiger. Some ideas were even borrowed from the USSR—engineers attempted to replicate the famous “pike nose” of the IS-3.

The turret, while reminiscent of the one used on the Königstiger, was designed as a cast structure and featured a unique French innovation—a turret-mounted anti-aircraft module with twin 20 mm cannons. However, upon further development, it became clear that the tank’s concept was outdated. If it were to reach serial production, it would already be obsolete. As a result, the project remained on paper.

  1. This is the first realistic French premium we got after AMX M4 49, credit where it’s due.

However in terms of performance it looks DOA, the hull is very weak (UFP included) and the turret has those giant cupolas as weakspots. Mobility is above average and gun handling is really good though.

  2. this seems like a Renegade wearing a french heavy skin
IDK if this platform will be good in today’s game meta
