M47 Romach (United Nations, Tier-8, MT, techtree)
During a series of local conflicts, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) consistently expanded their arsenal with captured equipment. One such trophy was the American M47 tanks seized from the Jordanian army. These tanks were not used by the IDF, but various modernization options were considered by Israeli military officials.
One of these modernization projects, designated Romach (“Spear”), involved the removal of the hull-mounted machine gun, the installation of improved suspension components and observation devices, and the unification of several parts with the M48 Magach tank, which was in service with the IDF.
Ultimately, the M47 Romach was never brought to life and remained only on paper. This was due to the small number of captured M47s and the availability of more advanced M48 Magach tanks within the IDF.
