In October 1932, the Ordnance Committee completed the specification for the Medium Tank T3E2. The first example was built two years later, but after a series of tests, it was sent for modification. By 1936, the vehicle had undergone numerous modifications and was finally operational, but by that time it was already hopelessly outdated. The tanks, which had no future, were soon discontinued. For some time, two T3E2 examples were used as museum exhibits, but were later scrapped.
