The development of the draft design of the NST (new medium tank) was completed in 1966. One of the design features was a 4-bypass chassis with a drive for each bypass. A transmission with a hydrostatic transmission allowed the amount of power transmitted to each track to be adjusted. The project did not progress beyond the drawings.
