A new vehicle is rolling into the Supertest today—the SDP 57 Gowika, a Tier VII Polish tank destroyer. This is an anti-tank self-propelled gun (SPG) project by Jan Gowik, a cadet of the Jarosław Dąbrowski Military Technical Academy of Warsaw.
As an addition to the upcoming Polish TD line, it doesn’t have the brand-new star tray shell mechanic—a feature exclusive to vehicles in the line from Tier VIII to X.
The SDP 57 Gowika embodies the essence of a classic tank destroyer, blending traits from both the Jagdpanther and the SU-152. It boasts good mobility, reaching a top speed of 50 km/h and a reverse speed of 14 km/h. Additionally, this TD features decent frontal armor and a powerful gun, delivering an impressive 420 HP per shot with a quick 2-second aiming time.
Drawing comparisons to the Tier X TD in the new line (the NC 70 Błyskawica), the SDP 57 Gowika shares both the strengths and weaknesses of the top vehicle. It has the same limited gun traverse of 5°L/5°R and a somewhat sluggish turning speed. Nevertheless, it stands as a menacing adversary on the battlefield when playing from the second or third line of fire thanks to its decent firepower.
