Are you ready for a new Season of our battle royale onslaught, Commanders?
Steel Hunter is returning to World of Tanks! This year, we are discontinuing Expedition, the progression system shared with Frontline. Instead, you will earn Battle Pass Points based on your position in the post-battle ranking, and by completing special missions in Steel Hunter. There will be four separate Stages of this exciting mode, with the first Stage kicking off on March 15. Get ready to join 19 other brave hunters either solo or in a three-vehicle Platoon to be the last hero standing and emerge victorious!

The core gameplay mechanics of this mode remain unchanged, so you can find all details in the updated event guide. We’re sure you remember the basic rules, but here’s a brief refresher just in case:
- Choose to fight solo or in one of ten Platoons of three (in this case, there will be a total of 30 players).
- In Steel Hunter mode, it’s every player for themselves. Your main goal is to survive at any cost, destroy all your opponents, and be the last Steel Hunter standing.
- The total battle time is 15 minutes. Before the battle, you can choose from several spawn points on the map.
- Seek and collect special objects (loot) that periodically spawn on the map. They contain resources, XP, and vehicle upgrades.
- Battles take place on two huge maps (Dreamland and Arzagir 4.04) whose playable areas shrink over time. Escape Danger Zones, as they will destroy your vehicle once the countdown ends if your vehicle is still inside.

Radio Detection. This system displays loot points and enemy vehicles on the minimap within its coverage area. Be aware that using Radio Detection will reveal your current position if you are within range of another player’s Radio Detection.
- Create a special Platoon for the mode. Gather three players, choose a unique vehicle, and storm into battle!
Steel Hunter will also feature 2 missions, each of which you can complete once a day. If successfully completed, each of these daily missions will earn you 20 Battle Pass Points. Plus, there will be an additional repeatable mission for both solo and Platoon players to earn a load of credits.

All these special vehicles have been rebalanced. We revised their key battle parameters such as HP pools, durability, armor penetration, and other characteristics. These changes will allow you to choose a vehicle based not on its combat effectiveness, but on your personal playstyle. In addition, two new internal modules have been added to all five vehicles: Turret Rotation Mechanism and Optics.

Reworked Post-Battle Statistics and Recording Replays
We’ve also reworked the post-battle statistics in Steel Hunter. In addition to players’ nicknames and their position in the post-battle rankings, you will now see:
- Your and other players’ final vehicle tiers
- The damage dealt and the number of enemy vehicles destroyed
- National icons
These updated statistics will be available to both Platoon and solo players. Plus, you’ll be able to see which players used the Anonymizer.
A nice surprise awaits those who like to re-watch their battles or want to share their best games. Steel Hunter will now support the replay recording function. It will work the same as in other modes of World of Tanks.
Stay in Battle and Follow the Winner!
In the new Season, you’ll have a chance to stay in battle and watch it to the end, even if your vehicle was destroyed. We’re introducing a special mode working on the principle of “follow the winner”. It automatically toggles on after your vehicle is destroyed.
In this mode, you can see the battlefield from the perspective of the player who destroyed your tank. If their vehicle is subsequently destroyed, the camera will switch to whoever came out victorious in their clash, and so on down the chain until the end of the battle. When playing in a Platoon, you will follow your Platoon mates as long as at least one of them is not destroyed. Then the camera will switch to those players who destroyed your Platoon’s vehicles.
Get ready to fight to the last in the new Season, Commanders! Battle for supremacy and boost your progress in the epic Battle Pass activity!

nothing to look forward to this year, I guess …
wonder when we will hear what WG has planned for the 10 years EU server anniversary
nothing i guess, the description on the anniversary keys is the only thing keeping me around
I am glad I can Steel Hunter give a miss without killing my chance to get my hands on a reward tank. The mode isn’t badly designed, but Battle Royale simply isn’t my cup of tea.
Yea i does not like the old idea of hard grind on one week. I prefer to play it 1 or 2 per 3 days
Steel Helmet event for me not
So is there any reason at all to play steel hunter? Do you maybe only have access to some camo there?
That’s exactly what I’m wondering. I liked the Steel Hunter mode well enough and always maxed out the progress but I did it for bonds and camo. Without those incentives Steel Hunter is interesting enough to play a couple games for the novelty but not interesting enough to replace random battles for a whole session. As a challenge with rewards it was great, as a red herring it’s kind of pointless.
so there is no progres in steel hunter?just making points for battle pass?
