WoT: Land of Mayhem – Scrapped Map From 2011

source: reddit

There were many scrapped maps in WoT’s history – lots of them were covered by Wotexpress or other news/leaks sharing websites at a time. However, this time I have a map I’m sure you’ve never heard about – Boundless/Land of Mayhem.

Full file of this map was found in versions 0.6.4-0.6.5 (technical name: 40_boundless). From technical standpoint, it should be noted that this map had 1024 chunk files, compared to usual 484, which almost certainly means this map was 1,5×1,5 km in size, as:
amount of chunks for normal maps (1×1 km) is √484 = 22, so the map is 22×22 chunks in size As two chunks belong behind map borders (one on each end), 1000 m ÷ 20 = 50m, so a chunk is 50m.
Now for 40_boundless: √1024 = 32; 30×50m = 1500m

Because of that, not only hardly anyone knows about its existence at all, but pretty much nobody knows what was it meant for.

it’s not a skin, but an alternative texture in game files
it was removed from the game after 0.4.5 (August 2010, during Open Beta)
it was in the game over a year before the introduction of any customization (camouflage and emblems), not even talking about 2D styles in like 2017-2018

And after 14 years, time to finally publish some more screenshots of it
As it can be seen, this style had the tank decorated with colorful lights all over, as well as trackwheels bolts being gold
