After the failure of a joint effort between France and Germany to design a new main battle tank, France undertook the initiative that eventually produced the Leclerc. Plans for the Leclerc included several advanced features, including modular composite armor, thermal profile reduction, an autoloader, and a 120 mm smoothbore gun designed for increased muzzle velocity. The vehicle entered service in 1992, with the T3 series considered the beginning of its official production run. It remains in service today with the armies of France and the United Arab Emirates.

WoT Console: AAT60


Welcome the American Tier IX AAT60 Tank Destroyer! The latest World War II Premium vehicle is a hard-hitting tank destroyer that will lay waste to the enemy’s plans. Take a look!

It may have existed only in blueprints, but the AAT60 represented a key step in the development of American armor. Its innovative fighting compartment design, which left space in the turret only for the commander, gave the vehicle a small frontal area compared to tanks with uninhabited turrets. This design paved the way for the armored milestone that was the M60A2.
