Soviet ZET-1 System for Protection Against HEAT Shells
It consisted of a folding mesh screen mounted on the gun (cope umbrella?) and rotating side skirts. It’s supposed to detonate projectiles before they reach the tank itself, similar to side skirts or cages. Developed in 1964 but dropped due to newer tanks with better armor being developed.
+It wasn’t really liked by the crews, due to its tendency to be shaken loose.
