Data: Christmas Box earning results compiled

200 boxes purchased (50 of each type – don’t think that matters) – here is the breakdown of what was obtained. I understand more data points would yield more accurate data, but this is what I have. You also get three decorations per box.

8x KV-220-2 (1500 gold each)
6x Turan (1700 gold each)
5x M4 imp (1750 gold each)
2x IS3A (12910 gold each)
1x LEFH (1500 gold each)
1x E25 (6700 gold each)
1x Defender (10950 gold each)
1x Skorpion G (10900 gold each)

62750 of raw gold.
122 Days of prem time.
4 Special styles/skins (Is7,Bat chat 25, T57 heavy, Grille 15)
10.3 million credits.
1 Special crew member

So, in total, if you consider the gold value of the tanks(86820 gold), plus the raw gold of 62750 yields a net profit of 149570 gold.

Since a day of prem time is 250 gold, this equals 112 * 250 = 30500 gold worth of prem time.

TOTAL gold = 62750+86820+30500= 180,070 gold.

So what do you get on average per box? (Doesn’t include crew members or special styles/skins)

900.35 gold (Includes average values of gaining a prem tank and premium time)
51500 credits

And no, I didn’t buy 200 boxes.

Enjoy.

Data: Tier 8 Premium tank ownership

So I decided to take a look at how many people own which Tier 8 prem, in an effort to see how WG is doing in terms of selling prem tanks, and what people want in prem tanks. It’s hard to compare some prems, for many reasons, including:

1. Overall how good the tank is
2. Tank class
3. Armor/no armor
4. Nation
5. Price
6. Availability and/or how often it goes on sale
7. Other things (Some people hate slow tanks, love fast tanks, love nice guns hate derpy guns, want armor, want a brawler, a sniper, etc).
8. Misc things – crew size and how it looks, etc.

This is the top 15 owned Prem Tier 8 tanks (EU) from Wotcharts.Eu. It is sorted by # of Owners (Keep in mind to be an “Owner” you must play at least one battle in the tank). Also some of these prems were given out as marathons, and to CCs and Wg employees etc, but those are small numbers. I only listed top 15 as the table would be huge.

Some interesting observations:

Obviously some of these are tanks that are better than others, which is easily known by those who know this game, but you can also just look at the stats.

Skorpion G is a very strong tank in a good player’s hand (Arguably the best Tier 8 premium – it appeals to sniper trashlords and people who want to flex around the map and be useful), and is #1 in ownership, even though it’s not available for gold. Lowe/T34/T26E4/M4A1/Is6/CDC/Jtiger88/FV4202/Strv S1/T54 Mod 1/WZ 120 are all available for gold. The Progetto was a marathon tank, as was the Pilot. So literally the only two tanks (That i’m aware of) on this list that were not given away as a marathon or event etc, and aren’t available for gold (Meaning people gotta pay real $$$) are Skorpion and Lorr 40. Both of these tanks are excellent, and are probably in the top 10% of all Tier 8 prems in terms of overall how good they are.

Let’s compare to a known “Bad” Tier 8 prem, the Mauerbrecher, only 8200 owners, to the Somua (Which is a great tank) – Nearly 26000 owners which is more than 3 times as much. Both tanks are fairly new, AND Germany has a bigger tech tree, meaning more people probably play German tanks than Frenchies.

I know you can’t really compare them (autoloader to slow armored heavy) but the point I am trying to make here is that, people aren’t stupid THAT stupid, and neither is WG. They will buy the good tanks, and not so much the bad tanks. It doesn’t take long for someone who knows the game to know if a tank is bad or not, even just by looking at tanks.gg or a similar website without even playing it you can get a good idea of whether the tank will be good, and if you even want to play it.

So basically, expect more OP premium tanks in the future to be sold, because it’s simply not logical to release crappy premium tanks, because few people will buy them, and then what, what did that accomplish? Nothing.

Hope this makes sense – some 200 IQ stuff I know.

Data: New Mission Reward Tank Population Updated (EU)

If you haven’t already – see this https://thearmoredpatrol.com/2018/10/31/data-new-mission-reward-tank-population-eu/

This is how many folks have completed the respective campaigns in the last month. Keep in mind this data only reflects those players who have played at least one battle in the tank.

Seems like it’s still going, and not a lot of people have obtained these special tanks (yet). You can see the people who own the tanks are also high skill players that are performing well in these tanks.

This data is taken from Wotcharts.Eu as of 12/1/2018.

WOT Advent Calendar Daily Mission Acceptance

I wasn’t automatically getting these missions. The mission would pop up after I was already logged in for a few hours for some reason (At least on NA). For those who are curious as to how to get the mission as soon as you log in, see screenshot below. In the garage, you click store and then Advent Calendar, then you can click on “Accept mission”. The missions are one/day and are easy with some decent rewards.

Good luck.

VBAddict – Popular WOT Statistics website hacked

From – http://www.vbaddict.net/

Hello vBAddict users and fans of our World of Tanks statistics,

as you have noticed, the World of Tanks Replay and Statistics System from vBAddict.net was hacked a week and a half ago and unfortunately so bad that I can’t get the old system to work anymore. Since I ran the whole thing in my private free time, without a commercial background, I personally lack the money and the insight to pay any hackers 1 Bitcoint (that’s the equivalent of 5000 Euro).

Currently I’m in the process of completely reprogramming the existing system, more secure and up-to-date than the old one. This means that in the future replays can be uploaded and evaluated again, as well as the popular statistics, WN8 to tanks and other features can be found. However, this takes a little time.

I will keep you informed about the current status of the work here, but I assume that I won’t be able to start with a new version of vBAddict until the new year and ask for patience until then.

Best regards

My opinion: This is unfortunate as the website was very useful for many things, including checking tank statistics, equipment, and other things.

Too bad – hopefully he can get it up and running again soon.

Data: Looking for some ideas for future articles

Hi folks,

I’m looking for some ideas for future data related articles. Obviously the data needs to be available, but I can analyze basically everything in a graph, chart, or anything of various types.

Some ideas are other things from Vbaddict, Wotcharts.Eu, Wotlabs, etc or other WOT websites.

If anyone has any ideas or wants to see something you can put in the comments or find me on TAP Discord as Motoko.

I GUESS I could do WOWS stuff, but I don’t play that game. Data is data though, so it doesn’t matter what it’s for.

Thanks

Data: Tier IX Tank Statistics

Same story as before, WR, DMG, and KPG are average values from Wotcharts.EU and Vbaddict, the others (Blocked and spotting) are strictly from Vbaddict. Each is weighed the same, 10 points each based on percentile performance relative to other tanks. Remember this is how AVERAGE players perform in these tanks. The percentile column is where the tank ranks (0 and 100% are excluded). Average score is a 25.55 with a standard deviation of 8.54, so basically the 430 is well above two standard deviations relative to the mean. Max score of 50.

I didn’t include XP because that just favors brawler tanks more and tracking assisted does as well, not going to hit tracks consistently in a tank 400 m away (I guess unless you’re a Swede td)

Some surprises here, other things not so much. Not surprised at all 430 is at the top considering that tank could probably be a tier 10 and still do fine, it has good armor, high hp, and some insane camo values. The 50TP, T95, and the AMX T9 heavy are all quite good too. The quantity of battles is important to consider too, obviously lots of people playing the T-10 probably means more new players.

I’m surprised the 257 isn’t better as that tank is pretty idiot proof. There’s few other surprises like I said but I’ll let the chart speak for itself.

I would like to be able to compare only the best players in tanks, but I don’t have that data, so RIP.

Special tanks (T-55A etc) excluded.

Enjoy – any suggestions welcome.

Edit: Also, T95 blocks 58% of incoming shots, which is absurd, never seen something that high, especially at higher tiers.
