CS-57 Sokol (Poland, Tier-8, MT)
Historical Reference:
This tank project was developed in the mid-1950s for the installation of long-barreled guns of the P-DAP type. The design combined proven Soviet solutions, obtained through licensed documentation for the T-54A, with advanced developments: large cast front hull sections and gas turbine engines based on the GTD-350 helicopter turbines.
The vehicle was intended to be relatively light, mobile, and maneuverable, while still offering good protection and strong anti-tank capabilities. For self-defense against infantry posing a threat to tanks, it was planned to equip the vehicle with a powerful machine gun. The anti-aircraft mount was expected to be effective not only against helicopters but also against lightly armored ground vehicles.
Due to the limited capabilities of the Polish People’s Republic’s economy, the tank never progressed beyond the design phase.
I don’t know why, but it reminds me of an Audi R8
