WoT Supertest: Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. F2 Comparison to Other Tier 5 Tanks

Meanwhile, the Tier-5 Pz. IV F2 features the following changes from its closest premium analogue, the Tier-5 Pz. IV H Ankou (which itself is just the Tier-5 Pz. IV H with the top 75 mm gun), excluding (of course) its model:

  • Slower turret traverse (36.5 deg/s vs 45.89 deg/s)
  • Increased hitpoints (720 vs 630)
  • Reduced frontal hull armor (50/30/20 mm vs 80/30/20 mm)*
  • Slightly less weight/load capacity (23.6/27 t vs 25/28 t)
  • Less engine power (300 hp vs 440 hp)
  • Significantly lower specific power (12.71 hp/t vs 17.6 hp/t)
  • Lower reverse speed (-15 kph vs -18 kph)
  • Faster hull traverse (39.63 deg/s vs 33.38 deg/s)
  • Worse stationary concealment (14.71/3.63 vs 17.93/4.43)**
  • Worse moving concealment (11.06/2.73 vs 14.17/3.5)**
  • Higher view range (360 m vs 350 m)

    1. Wana bet? There is already another tank that is being tested that is almost certainly a GuP colab, and the series started out using an F2 for quite a while.

      1. They started with an Ausf. D, actually.
It wasn’t until after the quarter-finals that they upgraded to Ausf. F2, and to Ausf. H after the semi-finals.

  1. This comparsion is confusing me.

The tank was shown with 80mm frontal armor to us in the supertest news, but in that picture it has 50mm only.

The concelement is actually equal, since the Ankou comes with a inbuild 3D style.

However, the comparsion misses very important stuff. The hidden stats of the gun, the ground resisstances and the real engine power.

    1. I agree with woohoo, Ankou has built-in camo thus the difference. F2 with paint should have the same concealment.

80mm F2 should be similar to Ankou and tech-tree PzIV, 50mm F2 should be compared to PzIV Hydro instead, which has faster top, reverse, and traverse speeds in exchange for a lower p/w, RoF, and VR
