Despite the hype, on PC the Italian TDs are only strong against clueless people and those who don’t spam gold ammo like weak monkeys. Lots of noobs, but very few don’t spam gold ammo by now.
Still they are bad for gameplay with all the corridors and hulldown positions. Even if they can not fight back that much, you cannot push those bunkers.
To be fair, a lot of high tier tanks cannot be pushed, and the lack of flanking options exacerbates the issue (and often attempting to flank means invisible campers will kill you).
