WoT: 1.18 Common Test Patchnotes

Main Changes

New Branch of Italian Tank Destroyers

Six new tank destroyers (from Tier V to Tier X) have been added:

  • Tier V—Semovente M41
  • Tier VI—Semovente M43
  • Tier VII—SMV CC-56
  • Tier VIII—SMV CC-67
  • Tier IX—Controcarro 1 Mk. 2
  • Tier Х—Controcarro 3 Minotauro

Improved Visuals for Destroyed Vehicle Tracks

Technology for the physically correct behavior of knocked-down vehicle tracks has been added.

The Track Physics setting has been added. The new technology will be used when the Standard or higher option is selected. If the setting is disabled, the visuals for destroyed vehicle tracks will be displayed as before.

This setting will be enabled by default for the High-Ultra presets, as well as for the Custom preset and the Object LOD parameter set at High or better.

Matchmaking Changes

A limit of no more than one wheeled vehicle per team has been introduced.

From now on, only one light tank or wheeled vehicle is allowed per Platoon. The limit is applicable to Tiers VII–X.

The SPG matchmaking rules in Random Battles have been changed. The matchmaker will aim to keep the majority of battles within the range of 0–2 SPGs per team. Players should expect much fewer battles with 3 SPGs per team.

Topography

Updated scenarios for the following maps: Karelia, Lakeville, Mannerheim Line, Sand River, Province, Mines, Ruinberg, Steppes, Widepark, El Halluf, Ensk.

Bootcamp

The ability to proceed to the next training stage after a defeat has been added. In this case, the target actions of the previous stage should be completed.

Known Issues

  • The technology of physical behavior for destroyed vehicle tracks has not yet been configured for the new branch of Italian tank destroyers.
  • For vehicles featuring twin tracks (Object 279 (e), T95, Mäuschen, VK 168.01 (P), Mauerbrecher), pairs of destroyed tracks follow the behavior of a single unit.
  • When applying 3D styles to vehicles that include additional elements, such as side screens or fenders, the models of destroyed tracks may overlay the models of such elements.
  • In battle replays, destroyed tracks are not displayed in the same places where they were knocked down.
  • On vehicles with side screens/fenders, track models may overlay the models of such elements.

  1. I just checked the 3d model of Minotauro armor… Everyone, prepare accurate gun that can attack small weaknesses. And if you meet Minotaur on the hill… Good luck to you all the best.

    1. Had a look a moment ago, Minotauro looks like the ultimate noob proof tank at Tier 10, the frontal armor is almost on par with Object 279e and it gets 345 HEAT pen which is ideal for a frontline quasi-heavy. Add -10 gun depression and a turret with a wide arc just to be sure and, well…

      1. Yeah, so we got the answer to this tank’s weird clip system. The tank has a cooldown after shooting five times as a penalty for crazy armor. But tank with this level of armor, I’m going to happily research Techtree with a goal of T10.

        1. The wonky autoloader is being sold as the main gimmick – according to WG, having an unconventional intraclip compared to most autoloaders should throw the enemy off and make them expose themselves thinking “the ITA dude is reloading the clip”. Honestly, they should’ve just made them single shot, the autoloader plague is really out of control.

And yeah, I am seriously considering going for Minotauro myself. Don’t care if it goes down in history as a tank for noobs.

    2. All the folks who keep ragging on arty have to keep in mind you need to keep the natural predators of invulnerable ridge raiders in the game. I at least will go out of my way to target Chieftains, Concept 1Bs, etc. when playing an SPG.

That said, what I really am is a TD fan and I’ll certainly be grinding this line.

  2. Nearly all of the new italian tankdestroyers seem broken.
The tier 6 has 2800 dpm with 230mm heat and 3400 dpm with 105mm HE.
At tier 7 they start with absurd amounts of armor.
And from tier 8 on they practically become immune when played on a ridgeline.
The tier 10 has so much turretarmor that there is pretty much no place where a jpz heatshell can pen it, when he uses his gundepression. 360ish armor on flat ground is the lowest it gets if you dont count that rather small leftside cupola.

This stuff really is getting out of hand.

Meanwhile the T29 is too strong according to WG.
I mean yes you do outshine other tanks at your tier,
when you are pretty muh the only one that can take on a fight with higher tier tanks.
But maybe just maybe the problem isnt the T29 then,
but the unability of other tanks at its tier to propely fight back you know?

But im pretty sure WG knows this.
In the end this is just another way of making people feel uncomfortable in lowtier and midtier.
WG wants people to get into hightier fast where they can make more money out of them.

    1. For its tier T29 is extremely strong, the nerfs are unpleasant but they’re necessary.

Also, Minotauro is Tier 10, the least balanced tier in the game. With dumb pos like Chieftain running around all the time, Minotauro is a lesser evil.

  3. Don worry, as soon as everyone has grinded it spending time, money or both, there will be a silent nerf of soft stats ……..

    1. Any proof so-called “hidden” nerfs ever happened? And I mean actual proof, not just some unlucky RNG rolls once every blue moon.

      1. Any poof request by Anonymous? Get a nick, then come back. Or just read. Any proof you are not last of weekend noob 2000 rating that just speak like ingame? Sorry, bye, i cant waste time with masked hero…or carnival clown….

      2. Yes they have been several unannounced nerfs.
M12 I recall. There’s not been very many. But then who checks day to day if 0.1 value changes !?
If I change a good crew to a poor crew I get more nerf than any stealth nerf

  4. Actually, it’s the Tier 7 that looks the most broken to me. T5’s seeing the near-equivalent of a TS-5, give me a break. The T7 should have been the Semovente 95/30.
