We have 2 sets of map changes coming to supertest, first up
Balance changes to the Erlenberg map
The Erlenberg map will be removed from the Encounter Battle mode.
Balance changes were made to the Erlenberg map for the Standard Battle and Assault modes to equalize the opportunities of the teams.
1. A part of the building has been removed to improve the connection between the teams.
2. Changed the house model to minimize long-range shooting when crossing the river.
Then we also have changes to
Balance changes to the Siegfried Line map
The changes to the map are aimed at balance improvement:
1. A position with a bunker for the lower base team has been added, which allows control of the field and passage in the city similar to the position of the upper team.
2. Improved access to the city for the lower base team, as well as for the attackers in Assault mode.
3. Driving along the ruins has been made more comfortable.
4. Cleared and slightly improved the defensive position in the lower base city.
5. Removed several fir trees that facilitated firing at the lower base without being spotted.
Changed the spawn points in Assault mode to allow the assault team to take control of more of the map than before.
That Erlenberg change at the cap circle is not good, now there will be no place for more then 1 tank…
Ofc dumb down this piec of sh**tmap Erlensh1t even more! Creating a even better RRR-hulldown-corridor for Steve and his mouthbreathing friends, save from sideshots everywhere.
Why don’t they just build a tunnel underneath the river for the heavies to brawl?
If we will ever get a third map to ban, this will be the first I will happily block and forget forever.
I highly agree, erlenberg is hot garbage, they need to not have such massive open fields that take way too long to cross
really? i feel like airfield (waitfield) is one of the worst maps now, also el halluf becomes a really bad map.
Both maps can be played in just 1 position (or 1 position is too important) the north in the halluf, while the south becomes worthless and useless.
Airfield is a bad map and like 3 or 4 lines of the map (line 1-2, and water line) are imposible to use because of the water or the rocks, so is even smaller than it looks.
Sadly the map becomes a wait map to die vs arty, No bushes for lights, only 2 positions descent for tds, bad for meds bad for heavies. boring map
Siegfriedlinie’s changes look good though, even if it has become a shitmap with patch 1.0, when they blocked all long-range shooting opportunities for both sides. If I am playing a TD, this is one of the always banned maps….
Changes seems good.
WG should have NEVER used their blunt rework-mullet to squash flat most all of the the hills on Erlenberg.
Any change made to the city will not make this a less then garbage map compared to what the SD version was. If they do not adding some of the old topography back (hills&undulation) in the flattened fields.
Heck the old SD version had issues, but what they have done with the wonderful HD rework has gone beyond the original issues.
as far as i remember it was always a problematic map from the start, i could not remember if the old version was better but i remember (maybe wrong) that u can actually be more aggressive in both of the mediums side and perform well, now its not a good idea to play aggressive in this area.
The “Old Erlenberg” Map that the WG Devs ‘deleted’ 4 or 5 years ago (for err unknown reasons) and replaced with this boring and now almost flat shit-map (or shiter map) was far better in every way, and much more enjoyable for the players especially newer players
now this new Erlenberg ~ should NOT be called Erlenberg as it in no way zero looks anything remotely like the old much better Erlenberg.
Wargame at times (to many) keep F*cking up Maps “to suit WG ideas of quick battles” nothing here for player enjoyment
You left out that WG has this hard on for 3 corridor maps.
