Update 1.5 Patchnotes

Main Changes:

1. WoT Premium Account

The introduction of a new type of Premium Account — WoT Premium Account/WoT PA.

This type of the Premium Account works only in WoT. WoT Premium Account provides bonuses to experience, Crew Experience, Credits, and access to new functionality:

  • Reserve Stock: The Reserve Stock allows receiving extra 750,000 Credits per week. An additional 10% bonus on top of the Credits you earn in battles will fall into a special vault. Every 7 days, the vault will open, and all Credits accumulated in it will be automatically moved to your account.
  • Platoon bonus: If at least one player in a Platoon has WoT PA, that player will earn +15% to credits for every battle. The one who doesn’t have WoT PA, will receive +10% to Credits.
  • Manageable bonus to XP: Thanks to WoT Premium Account, players will be able to apply the ×3 multiplier and increase the experience earned in their latest victorious battle. This ×3 multiplier can be applied to the Battle Results five times a day.
  • Premium missions: Owners of WoT Premium Account will have the opportunity to complete a chain of 3 simple daily missions.
  • All owners of WoT PA will have one more slot for map blacklisting, so they can exclude two (2) maps total. As long as WoT Premium Account is active, the player will not fight on two excluded maps in the Random Battles (for Standard Battles only).

Specifics of the WoT Premium Account Release

  • All players will receive the same number of days of regular Premium Account, in the form of World of Tanks Premium account, on release day.
  • Both versions of the Premium Account will exist together, however WoT Premium Account will be active in the game client. Regular Premium Account can be active only if WoT Premium Account expires.

Related Game Client Changes

  • The interface of the Player’s Account has been reworked. Now, a click on the player’s nickname in the Garage displays the Account Status interface, where a player will be able to view their current Premium Account status and go to the interface of the new WoT Premium Account options. The interface also allows managing Personal Reserves.
  • Added explanations and descriptions for all new entities of the new WoT Premium Account, as well as management tools for them.
  • The Platoon bonus of WoT Premium Account is now added to the existing bonus, when playing in Platoon.
  • In the Store, players can purchase only WoT Premium Account.
  • Regular Premium Account is no longer available for purchasing or receiving in the game client.
  • Regular Premium Account will be replaced with WoT Premium Account through all aspects of the game, including: missions, events, Personal Missions, etc.

2. Grand Battles for Tier VIII Vehicles

The release of the Grand Battles for Tier VIII vehicles is postponed, since more time for tests is needed.

3. Excluded Maps

  • Players can exclude one or two maps from the map list of the Random Battles.
  • Standard Account allows excluding one map; WoT Premium Account allows excluding two maps.
  • Excluded maps work only for vehicles of Tier IV or higher.
  • Note that maps can be excluded only in the Random Battles mode (for the Standard Battle only). For example, a player excludes Siegfried Line but they will keep fighting on the map in the Assault and Encounter Battle types, if the corresponding options are enabled in the Settings.
  • Maps of the Grand Battles cannot be excluded.
  • Excluded maps can be changed when the 4-hour cooldown elapses.
  • When playing in Platoon, the maps excluded by the Platoon Commander have the priority.

4. Vehicle Customization

Now paints can be applied to vehicles of all tiers.

5. Changes to the Stun Mechanics

  • Additional stun duration (caused to vehicles that are already stunned) decreases in time by half.
The Superheavy Spall Liner additionally decreases duration of repeated stuns by 20%; the Heavy Spall Liner decreases it by 10%.
  • The minimum stun duration of all SPGs in the game has been reduced by 5% of the maximum stun duration.
  • The damage at the edge of the burst radius has been changed from 0.15 to 0.05 for all HE shells (SPGs and other vehicles firing HE shells). It results in a damage re-calculation within the burst radius. Damage caused by indirect hits of HE shells decreases. Stun duration also decreases.
  • These changes will insignificantly affect direct hits of HE shells.
  • Changes to the Technical Characteristics of some SPGs.

6. Vehicles for Bonds

The vehicles for Bonds feature has been postponed and will not be added in Update 1.5. We will keep working on the feature within the future updates, so stay tuned.

    Bloody hell.

  2. So a rather uninteresting update.
    – premium account is nice but also not needed
    – nerfs are good but also not enough. The Types are still bunkers that cant be dealt with without gold and that can spam HE without aimimg, the FV4005 can still oneshot tier Xs. And the OBJ nerfs got cancelled.
    – tanks for bonds cancelled despite being one of the highlights of this patch and a hyped feature announced before christmas
    – arty nerf does not adress the issue of lowtiers and still allows arty to send your crew back to 50% training making you effectively useless for a while.

At least we got new tanks. Hopefuly they’re worth the grind. And we get to block malinovka.

    1. There will be no type spamming HE except the very noob ones . in tier 10 games the oi gun sucks lol . Also the FV4005 will require some more skill now at least and with a backward speed of 8 it means it will really get punished for even minor mistakes .

  4. So, ALL that work to make the Swedes OP, and YET known issues persist. Unacceptable. These vehicles are used by a handful of players now. And the Russian Bias is STILL there….NO medium rebalance for you !

  5. Well, they introduced their game with an unified account, just to split them when they realized that they wanted to make more money. That is a “nice” way to give their community the middlefinger. I dont really want to get much more credits than with the “normal” premium account. I want to be able to play different games with the same premium account, when i like it.
You can say that i still can do that, but the offers are better for the splitted premium accounts and they would prefer that you buy different premium accounts for their games. The “normal” premium account is now the “ugly duckling” in wargaming’s eyes.

    1. People are usually playing only one WG game at a time and the rest are logging into other games only to get free days of premium for WoT. I guess WG didn’t like that. Also on RU tons of people have Rostelecom/Beltelecom internet and they get WoWs prem and WoT prem with that, so it’s a win-win for them. I personally like that I can get specific WoT premium acc with extra things added, I don’t care about other games.

      1. Yes, you dont care about other games, i get that. But they introduced it with the premise “a unified premium account”, which they already negated with adding dubloons. It is just the fact that they broke their first idea and deceived their original user base.

  6. I mean, basically a useless patch, but i do like map banning and the prem acct change is fine, the other buffs/nerfs are good, no idea if the new swede stuff is op or not, havent paid much attention to WOT for a while.

Arty changes are a meme and the issue is still there, as someone else said lower tier arty is insane OP (M44, LEFH, etc) and totally destroys any new player’s experience in teh game. Higher tier arty also still bullshit op. if the arty changes were actually something that would be felt, this patch would be great.

Shouldve nerfed 430/430u armor but w/e theres plenty of OP shit in the game, nothing new.

Arty is still the worst part of this game.

      1. You’re a moron, reading comprehension is hard.

It will take time PLAYING them before people can actually formulate an opinion on the new swede stuff, do you know if it’s op or not? No.

        Idiot. Probably an arty player.

  7. Emil 1 didnt need a mobility nerf. And the buff to side armour tested in the secons iteration got removed…

Emil 1 is shit now with the 1951 being better in every way

    1. i am absolute ok with the emil 1951 being better than emil 1, i mean after all emil 1951 is the reward that you get for suffering and trying hard in frontline mode for a whole year.

      1. INB4 WG sell it for bonds.

But on a serious note, WG themselves marketed it as an “Emil I lite; sacrificing armour for more mobility”. So if they they had kept the Emil I mobility as it was (which really didn’t need changing) and instead decreased the 1951’s turret armour to 150 but increased its power to weight and hull traverse it would just help to differentiate them.

It’s bad enough that WG gave the Emil I an incorrect model (its just a wrongly modelled 1951 right now) So giving them slightly different playstyles based on armour and mobility should be fine

    1. > no Grand Battles for Tier 8 because “need moar testing”

WG has over 4000 employees all over, but as always, one guy is doing the tier 8 adaptation, and he took a sick leave for a couple of weeks…

But hey, they got large format CW decals working, team of 12 worked on it, I guess.

  8. The HE gun changes didn’t really address the real issue with the gun. Its Premium shell is still better in every way with no downsides. I like the new 14cm gun though, its now viable. HE gun, haven’t tried yet, but 900 HE damage on a tier 10 15cm gun is trash. the original 1100 was fine, there are tds with the same HE damage and a bit better pen. I’ll have to deal with it, but I think they did not really address the problem with the silly HE nerf.
