  1. So compared to the Swedish tier 6 clip premium it has the same AP pen, but less alpha and more DPM. Worse dispersion, but faster aim time. And a bigger top speed. Might not be that bad then.

  2. can’t believe there was so much whining about this tank being fake, as if there is none in display at Saumur

now about the tank itself, it’s pretty average, exactly as a Sherman should be, a tank that can do its job but does not have any specific “strength”

I have just one question, from my calculations the dpm is wrong, firing 14 shots takes 58.33 seconds, 14 shots total 1890 dmg

    my calculations:

    0s (1st shot) + 1.75 + 1.75 + 1.75 (4th shot, 3rd reload) + 13.61 + 0 + 1.75 + 1.75 + 1.75 + 13.61 + 0 + 1.75 + 1.75 + 1.75 = 42.97 seconds (time to fire 3 full magazines, 12 shots total)

    60 – 42.97 = 17.03 seconds (enough for another full reload + 2 shots)

    42.97 + 13.61 + 0 + 1.75 = 58.33 seconds, this totals 14 shots

when a magazine loads it is ready to fire the 1st shot, for that reason you do not need to add the reload time for every 1st shot of the magazine, that means you add the reload time between the other 3 shots to the reload time of the full magazine

    1. Autoloader dpm is worked out like this: (reload + total intraclip) / number of shots = avg reload per shot. 60 / avg reload per shot = RoF × Alpha damage = DPM

      So its (13.61 + 5.25) / 4 = 4.72. 60 / 4.715 = 12.73 x 135 = 1,718 DPM

      1. ok, although I do not see logic in that since in reality you should be able to fire 14 shots in under a minute based on the numbers they provide

        1. Well the RoF is an average. The way you worked it out would result in different RoF for each minute this producing different DPMs.

This is a more simple and consistant way to find the values

  3. Tank looks to be nice and balanced IMO for a tier 7 premium medium tank. But most tier 6 premium mostly like that: balanced.

I wish though WG would address the US (t6 gun) 76mm M1A2 128mm ammo penetration, on medium tank platforms that have this gun and bring it up to current the standard for tier 6: 140>150mm

The range of 125>132mm penetration values for tier 6 mediums is IMO for really of this time any more. Only awkward thing that will arise, that I can see, are the lights that have similar 76’s and how players could react.

    1. they won’t, they have only “reworked” the US Tech Tree to nerf tanks, those fell so much on winrate and average match performance (avg dmg, k/d ratio, avg blocked dmg, etc) that it makes one wonder if those actually needed to be nerfed

they simply do not want to do it, what they said during the Q&A’s leading to WG Fest shows that, from talking about not having “enough material” to make new additions or rework lines, even though they added the TS-5 of which there’s as much material as most other possible additions, but since it is a premium, or reward or something, there’s no problem if there isn’t much material (the many mockups, not full size but miniature/scale, have to be in someone’s possession)
they even trolled players on questions about US tanks currently underperforming with «do you miss them being OP?»

      1. Hmm I can remember WG talking about reworking parts of the US medium branch…but heck that was back somewhere in late 2016. Before a lot changed.
If not, I’ll keep reminding them till they get sick of me, of all those regular forgotten tech tree tanks in game that need attention.

Btw random thought crossed my mind, this new tier 6 Frenchy also looks a bit similar to the Swedish Strv m/42-57 Alt A.2. Although the latter is (seems) weaker in comparison.

        1. I remember that as well, and in 2017 (or was it early 2018?) they talked about adding the AGF’s 27 or 45 ton designs (medium tanks) as well as the MBT-70, but in 2018 they did what I mentioned above, I’m sure you can find the translated Q&As in most (if not all) WoT related blogs

my memory is only good for this type of “useless” info, if I hear or read something that sparks my interest I will be able to remember it not matter how many years pass, although I cannot pinpoint dates

side note: I am not sure, if you compare the stats that are known, for now, the Swedish medium is lighter and has an extra 15dps as compared to the French but is inferior in every other stat, it does have an extra 5mm of frontal armor but loses on the side and rear (38 S/R vs 30/20)

I honestly do not believe that the extra 15 avg dmg per shot will be enough to balance them, but there are still the “hidden” stats, maybe they will balance both tanks mobility through terrain resistance or/and they will give it bad dispersion on the move

either way they can still change those stats because as of now it does seem like another example of the powercreep trend in WoT, if these stats are close to final it will completely outclass the Swedish medium

example: the French has 720HP while the Swedish has 700HP

4 shots with avg damage from each tank will not kill the oponnent and so they will be forced to reload

the French will be able to dish out his first 4 shots and reload the full magazine before the Swedish (5.25s vs 6s)

the French will likely be able to fire his 6th shot before the Swedish fires its 5th (13.61s vs 15.66s, magazine reload)

          6*135 = 810
          5*150 = 750 (barely above the 720HP from the M4A1 FL10)
adding to that aim time (Fr:1.92s ; Sw:2.21s) and the advantage is even higher

(for a head-on fight in “ideal” conditions)
