WoT NA: ELC EVEN 90: “Judge Me by My Size, Do You?”

No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you — the ELC EVEN 90 light tank is approximately half the size of a Thunderbolt. A slippery demon that packs a nasty 90mm bite and is difficult to spot, the ELC effectively picks away at bigger tanks while remaining an elusive target. Let enemies chase you around to leave them open to attack, or use hit-and-run tactics to annoy them to no end… just beware of the light armor.

Manned by a three-person crew, the ELC EVEN 90 comes in four different bundles! Who says size doesn’t matter?

Against All Odds in the EVEN 90:

The ELC EVEN 90 is a vehicle that’s hardly spotted. Here’s some important points:

  1. Size: The EVEN 90 is very small, and probably the closest you’ll get to riding a bike on the battlefield. This contributes to survivability: enemies will have hard time hitting you as long as you keep moving; moreover, the EVEN 90 can use almost any obstacle to hide from enemy fire.
  2. Mobility: The EVEN can speed up to 70 km/h, though not too maneuverable. Nevertheless, it can contribute to active scouting.
  3. View Range: Two words: passive scouting. The 380m range just isn’t that great for active-scouting duels.
  4. Firepower: The EVEN features a three-round magazine reloading system, but is hampered by the damage, aim and reload values. Don’t focus on firing unless it’s at the top of the team list, and even then at the later part of a battle. Then the potential of causing 660 damage to an enemy’s side or rear will be handy.
  5. Concealment: The concealment of this vehicle is incredible! Enemies will wonder what keeps spotting them and firing three shells every half-minute. In fact, enemies can most likely only spot you only at proximity distance.

A combination of mobility and view range makes the ELC EVEN 90 a great passive scout that can be an active spotter if required, or a damage dealer given the chance. This vehicle also earns plenty of Credits, as a scout does not necessarily need to finish off enemies to get them.

More Info:

  • When playing against Tier IX or X enemies: The vehicle should play as a scout
  • When playing against Tier VI-VIII enemies: Use a combination of scouting and damage dealing
  • On urban and corridor-based maps: Use your view range and concealment to spot enemies crossing open areas; take advantage of your maneuverability to make the best use of each shell in the magazine.

    1. So we should try to spot the:”crossing (of) open areas” in “urban-corridor based”maps ………….I love how they fit these words in the same sentence though……:)

  2. It’s one big joke XD. There are 4 maps where you can passive scout. Lakeville, Malinovka, Prokhorovka and Muruvanka. Maybe Fisherman’s Bay and Redshire, but the rest of the maps are trash for tanks like this.

The problem is not only that this EVEN is way worse than the BC 12t, but that light tanks as a class are just utter crap.

    1. Of course when you actually have to think about what you are going to do in a match makes 99% of people believe that LTs are terrible. For me personally, I am a dedicated light tank driver and I find other classes rather boring. LTs are what distinguishes good players from the bad ones.

      1. Well, I’m not doing bad in those lights statistically (except for my current BC12t stats after 30-ish games), but it’s just frustrating to play them. They don’t have anything over other tank classes, they are just weak tanks.

    2. well, I have the T71 DA and if I compare that (its tier 7 …) to the EVEN, the prem-tanks is just aweful. pen is better but as it is tier 8 you will have 90% tier 10-matches, where 175 mm of pen are just useless.

plus the T71 is small too, has 10 m more viewrange, better clip potential (6×150 vs. 3×220), better intra-clip-reload (2s vs. 2,5s), better clip reload (20s vs. 30s) and fires APCR as standard with 1200m/s shell velocity (vs. totally sluggish 760m/s) which is great versus fast targets.

all in all: nice as a crewtrainer for french LT-crews. otherwise just bad.

  3. its because of WN8… that makes people think lights are terrible.
    but good players ignore wn8.
Lights have an immense impact on win rate.
SPOTING ist still very important. You dont need to make damage to impact the game outcome!

    1. Well, if you want to pad WN8, then lights are the way to go… And they don’t have an impact on games, you have to rely on your team to much. If your team don’t shoot the targets you spot, then you will lose. Doing direct damage is only possible when there is a possibility to flank and in the current map meta, those opportunities are way to rare. Just like that spotting isn’t possible on a lot of those corridor maps.

    2. 1.How is spotting still important in corridors and cages,70% of the maps beeing exactly that?
Except the 3-4 maps where you can fully exploit your lights strenghts, what can you do in maps like Paris,Kharkhov,Stalingrad,Ensk,Himmelsdorf,Sacred Valley,Mines, etc etc

2.How can light tanks have an immense inpact on win rate, when they are rather team dependant?
How can you push your team,if the only thing you can do in the cages-corridor maps,is only some initial spotting, and then wait in a bush or behind a corner and see who wins.
Even in the 3-4 maps mentioned before, you can spot all you want, but your team may not be in position or cant hit, cant pen,or your artys ignore you,or your whole team Yolo the other flank where you can not spot.
Ofc,you will ocasionally get an amazing game, but generally winrates playing in lights are not as consistent as playing meds or heavys, which influence the game much more.
I love lights btw,and hope more open maps will be implemented in game. That will be their biggest buff.

  4. Dont wanna buy a shit tank?

Then dont fucking buy it and move along.
Constant complaining about nieche tanks is exactly what eliminates diversity and makes this game dull (or rather devs listening to that kind of bullshit instead of proper feedback and trying to make everytank enjoyable to the casual masses [i.e. high sustainability + high firepower to overcome any skill barrier to master the tank]).

Yes I look at you Obj. 268 v4

Now guess what: Before Defender premium tanks used to be worse than their non-premium counterparts and only got adjusted if they performed significantly worse. Similar to this one but now I wouldnt wonder if WG just sais fuck it and completely overbuffs this to attract the simple-minded masses.
